An essential lesson we all must learn at some point 💯

Since my first game of basketball i knew this was the biggest dream in my career and after a lot of set backs and a lot of things holding me back. Going to a small country town school that didn’t have a basketball program and starting to play at 15 i was set back from the get go. A lot of failures made me question why i sacrificed so much time with loved ones and many times i wanted to give up and do what everyone else was doing. But staying to the course and betting on my self time and time again. i’m pleased to announce i have committed to Lincoln University of Oakland California!!!

Thank you to anyone who has came and watched me play for the neers over the years and has invested their time and effort into my basketball career. To my family and close friends this achievement isn’t possible without you in my corner❤️ Wether it’s win or lose i feel the support and love every time i step on the court, i know i wouldn’t be anywhere near where i am today if it wasn’t for my amazing Mum and Dad ❤️ To my now 2nd family and teammate Zac Collins you have given me a space to live and focus on my future making the next step easier, i’ll forever be in debt to your family ❤️ To all my coaches and teammates over the years you’s have shaped me to who i am today💯 All the sleepless nights and early mornings and time driving to get to where i am now was all worth it!!!

For more than two decades, Coach William Middlebrooks has quietly been building relationships, opening doors, and creating opportunities for the next generation of basketball players.

With $30M+ in player signings and 500+ athletes he’s helped develop into collegiate and professional opportunities, his impact extends far beyond the basketball court.

But for Gary Chivichyan, the relationship is personal.
In 2013, Gary came out of high school with zero college offers. He joined Middlebrooks Academy, put in the work, and Coach Middlebrooks helped open doors that ultimately changed the trajectory of his career.

Today, the two are working together through Blueprint Project—continuing to create pathways, provide direction, and help the next generation find their opportunity.

Some people coach the game.
Some people change lives through it.
This is the story of Coach Middlebrooks.

Today, six California small universities officially unite to launch the California Collegiate Alliance (CCA), THE ALLIANCE: a first-of-its-kind collective created to redefine opportunity for student-athletes and elevate institutions that deserve a bigger stage.

The Alliance exists for one reason:

To ensure every student-athlete has access to meaningful competition, greater visibility, and championship opportunities.

Instead of allowing seasons to be defined by isolated schedules, THE ALLIANCE creates something greater. a connected competitive experience fueled by official standings, powerful storytelling, media exposure, and championship moments that give every game greater meaning.

This isn’t about replacing conferences.

It’s about strengthening California’s small universities through collaboration rather than competition with one another, creating a platform where institutions rise together while maintaining their own identities.
