A still from "Waves" my first attempt at video art, for a show at Paragraph in Lawrence, Kansas in 2002.

My friends, Hesse McGraw and Cobi Newton, created a gallery space called Paragraph in Lawrence, Kansas, in 2001.

The first show was called "The Opening Paragraph" and 12 video artists were asked to create videos to the same experimental music track, created by my friend and bandmate, Matt Campbell (Laces Loose).

I used shots of cornfields, my sister waving and a shot of a busy NYC coffee shop and turned them into strips of video slowly fading into each other. The result was a slow moving collage that reminded me of my mind wandering while driving to and from my Mom's house in the middle of Kansas farm country.

In addition to Campbell and McGraw, artists contributing to the installation are Kyle Batten, W.S. Cheng, Janet Davidson-Hue, Ben Dowell, Hadley Johnson, Paul Lindblade, Oz McGuire, Jeffrey Ruggles, Ben Steinbauer, Courtney Tramposh and Traci Tullius.

fashion with a cause - what more could we want? The @michaelkors Golden Hearts Awards gala night in NYC was truly so inspiring to be a part of. It was incredible to hear the stories of how the charity God’s Love We Deliver has created such an impact in the community and to see people truly care. I had a whole breakdown in between listening to one of the honorees named Pat who has been with the organization for more than three decades and how she used to meet up with her friends at hospitals and funeral homes to volunteer instead of going out to eat or dance. To be able to give back to the world should be reason enough for ambition. Wealth is great, health is great - but maybe true success is measured by the impact you make with it on the world around you. My breakdown also had something to do with being so close to my Sex and the City ladies who raised me through a TV screen when I was in college. Thank you to our @michaelkors family for always trusting us and making us part of your story 🤎🥹
