National Coaches Day ✨

As I continue on into my 10th year as a high school cheerleading coach, I find it so rewarding to look back and see all of the incredible moments I have been able to experience, all of the wonderful athletes I have been able to work with, and all of the coaches I have had the privilege to work besides.

I started coaching at 21, as a senior in college, completing my student teaching at an elementary school near home. I coached through COVID, an ACL tear/surgery, and multiple job changes. I have coached at three different high schools, at both the JV and varsity levels. I had the opportunity to even coach at the allstar level for two different quarter season teams.

Every athlete I have ever connected with as a coach is someone who will live within my memory forever. Those connections are so special and I am so lucky to have so many athletes who still stay in touch.

As I have now become a mother, the moments when I get to coach with my daughter are even more meaningful. I can only hope that she grows up to have incredible coaches, just like I did when I was in high school.

To my former athletes - I love each and every one of you, and I’m proud of who you have become!! I miss you so don’t hesitate to reach out and say hello ❤️
