Nearly a decade since my last full marathon, 8 years since I first applied (and was denied) for the lottery to run the NYC marathon, and 7 years since an ankle injury that I thought would be the end to my running days, I finally redeemed the dream on November 3rd, 2024. 🏃🏻‍♀️

I could not have asked for better weather nor an even better crew of friends cheering me on throughout the course. From Mile 7 to 14 to 26, I am grateful for all of the support and love, especially from my number one @samothosmith who had to endure all of my complaining about early morning runs and foam rolling during training. ILY!! 💕

I also couldn't have done it without my amazing collective of healthcare professionals who made sure I was physically and mentally ready to thoroughly enjoy 26+ miles. Shout out to @hspecialsurgery , @finishlinept , @mandyfoxdpt , @theendurancerdn , and @lararosenthal.womenswellness for putting me back into the race. This is just the beginning!! ✨

I had such a lovely time catching up over brunch with my friend Lindsey! 💕

We met up at an adorable café in Brooklyn called The Butcher's Daughter. I'm so glad that American Girl brought us together - Lindsey hosts a podcast with our friend Laura called American Girl Women. I had the honor of being a guest of theirs on the pod a while back, and we've been good friends ever since!

As with so many of my friends, even if we don't see each other in person all that frequently, I love that we can still pick right up where we left off and have a great time together. It's been a year of big changes for both of us, but (as AG taught us so well in Book 6 of each character's stories) friendships are always a wonderful constant and throughline!
