On October 16th, I asked Lindsie to marry me in front of our closest family and friends. Guess what I did today? 🤎

Beautiful woman,

Shortly after we got back in contact, I lost my mom and my granny was sick. I was…devastated, out of body, flying around, trying to figure out how or where to land. You gave me a place, you grounded me.

Loving you is what got me out of bed in the morning. You and the way we live our lives has reset my central nervous system.

Ms. Brenda Sue, your daughter, is beautiful. She’s kind and thoughtful. You are never far from our conversation. We hold space for the memories of both of our mothers, making sure that who they were, is still a part of who we are.

Mostly, I want you to know that she is the love of my life. I will always do my best to provide for her. She is safe and she is happy. She is the way I feel God’s presence.

Sweet Pea, sometimes it saddens me that you’ll never know Mona & Ms. B. But then I think about how you calm my spirit and the way you pray for me. I think about your cooking, your pretty ass rapping trap music and your love for jewelry. I’m not saying you replaced them, they were 1 of 1. But I’m saying…when God called them home, He gave me you. I like to think they picked you out.

You are more than I knew to ask God for. When I feel like I should be further in life…I think that if I’d been anywhere else, I would’ve missed this.

I have been in love with you since that first weekend in September and I have been dying to ask you this question since then!
