Some places are worth waiting for.

We’re so inspired by this recently completed summer house by our dear creative partners at @tonicopenhagen. Jacob Houlind and Mette Kjær had their eye on these historic fishing houses in Tisvildeleje for years, waiting for the opportunity to make them their own. When they finally came on the market, they didn’t hesitate.

The renovation took three years, honoring what was already there while thoughtfully adding to its story. Original details, collected pieces, handmade elements, art, color and materials from many places come together in a way that feels deeply personal and meant to be lived in.

We believe there is something important in waiting for the right place, the right piece or the right idea rather than settling simply because something is available. The most meaningful interiors often take time to find.

We’re grateful to have TONI Copenhagen as part of our family of creative partners and to share in these kinds of stories. Their passion for craftsmanship, history and creating spaces with meaning resonates deeply with us at Emerson Bailey Interiors.

Keramisk.

"In the yellow kitchen, the traditional face-frame cabinetry takes cues from French country kitchens and is designed as a room where many people can gather around the preparation of food. The large Christiansborg faucet on standpipes that was originally developed for professional kitchens, where generous space beneath the spout was needed for large pots, sits naturally within a domestic kitchen conceived as a working space as much as a place to spend time."
