The first time Deanna and I caught up for coffee to chat about where her business was at, I knew this was going to be an amazing partnership (and friendship). We had an instant connection - I'm fairly certain we sat in that cafe for over 3 hours talking business, life, and everything in between. Nothing's changed since. We speak daily (we love a good voice note) and I wouldn't have it any other way, because from day one, my focus for poet has been showing up for my clients in exactly the moments they need it most - that 1:1 support (and availability) you just don't get from a typical agency model. We bounce ideas off each other constantly. I'm the first to champion her goals for the business, then get straight to work turning them into actions. I've built some amazing partnerships for her brand - wholesale and broader business strategies - and we've seen incredible growth in the short time we've worked together. I could not be more excited about where this is going, and everything we've got planned for a strong back half of the year and an even bigger one ahead. Big things on the horizon for this incredible woman! ✈️🌎

Tonight on our fortnightly zoom across the country - CMiG is so honoured to invite the very inspirational Deanna, to share her story and guide us through her journey of grief and loss. Deanna is a honest, authentic and hard working mama who turned pain into purpose. A great conversation not just for the mamas of pregnancy and infant loss but a pillar of hope and strength for us all. Bio: My name is Deanna and I am the Founder and Creative Director of Lingo the Flamingo, a purpose-led baby teething toy brand born from both profound loss and deep love. After experiencing the devastating loss of my daughter Harper at five and a half months pregnant, followed closely by the sudden passing of my mother, Christina, I found myself navigating unimaginable grief. In the midst of this, I turned my focus to raising my son, Phoenix, pouring myself into every detail of his early development. But Lingo the Flamingo is more than a teething toy product, it’s a symbol. Inspired by the journey of flamingos, who are born white and gradually grow into their vibrant colour as they develop strength and confidence, the brand reflects the beautiful evolution of babies as they grow, learn, and discover their potential. Starting my Lingo brand became my way forward, building a brand with purpose while honouring the legacy of my mother’s unwavering work ethic and devotion to my sisters and I. As the brand grew and took off, it gave me the strength to keep moving forward, creating something meaningful. http://lingotheflamingo.com.au/ @deannaaustin_ @lingotheflamingo_

Life InStyle Melbourne - my super bowl weekend. There is nothing I love more than being at this show, talking to retailers and being front and centre with all the vibes (especially exhibitor drinks with my old mate on the 🎷 can confirm I was on the dance floor until the very end) But this one hit different. It was the first one being there to support my clients for POET. Not just on the stand for three days, but from initial concepts, building and designing (and redesigning) the stand, working closely with the factory to get samples here in time, weekly meetings and check-ins to prep exactly what they needed for a successful show, right down to drilling shelves into walls at 7pm the night before (I'm still laughing how long this took us to get right). Because when I’m in, I’m all in. This was their first tradeshow and they absolutely killed it. I couldn’t be prouder to work alongside them day to day, helping bring their ideas to life and supporting them through every stage as their business grows. Next year, watch this space. I’m bringing the whole POET crew with me, bigger stands, bigger wins, bigger everything. #lifeinstyle #poetagency #wholesale #tradeshows
