Ford transit custom campervan. It’s definitely a campervan now. Can’t wait to get the furniture, it’s getting so close. #camper #campervan #fordtransitcustom

Saturday’s job Carpeting the passenger side. Carpeting is a really long job. We were quicker than the drivers side but it still takes so long. This took a whole day. Very happy with the finish. Some cards still need to go on, we need some more carpet. Still need to do the two ends of the poptop as well and the barn doors. at least 2 more days to go. Carpet is ivory from @liningdirectuk #fordcustomcamper #camperconversion #campercarpet

Sunday we attacked the sliding door. We knew it would be hard and we were right. It’s such a fiddly job and not forgiving, nowhere to hide with the cuts on this one, it has to be perfect. We thought we’d get more jobs done but the sliding door took the whole of Sunday 😂 Gary did a cracking job of it though, it looks so good when the panels go on. Ivory carpet from @liningdirectuk liningdirectuk lovely carpet to work with. #camper #camperconversion #fordtransitcustom #camperlining

Ford Transit Custom SWB Conversion. Putting on the first panel card is so satisfying, makes it look like a Camper van. It’s only one panel and one side but loads of skills learnt on this side and can’t wait to do the other side next week. We also have plans for the top panel, come back and see what we might do in the coming weeks. Worth a follow to watch it transform. Super happy with the days work. Sunday is Mother’s Day rest day and spending it with our amazing girls. #campervanconversionuk #fordcustomcamper #camperconversions #camperconversioncarpet #vanconversion

Carpet trimming the back D pillar. We bought covers for the D pillar gaps, you get 6 in a pack we might carpet them, still deciding on that. Fed the cables through. Took off the door arm fixing to carpet that fully, we have put it back on for now but we may swap this out with gas struts in the future. We will do trips with it first to see if we ever fully open the barn doors, if we don’t gas struts would work nicely. We have bought a back floor plate, so no carpet will be seen there when finished anyway. The finish is really nice, the door sill finishes it off lovely. We love this carpet. #campervanconversion #campervanconversionuk #fordcustomcamper #campervancarpetlining

Carpet Trimming around the wheel arches. We decided the carpet the wheels separately as we won’t be seeing them and it was a good place to start. If you’re going to see it then it’s done in one full piece. We are happy with the results, looks good. #campervanconversion #campervanconversionuk #campervancarpetlining

Ford Transit Custom SWB Conversion. Trimming our first window. It can feel a bit like where do we start. Don’t cut too much too soon. This carpet had been left a week before trimming as we ran out of time and didn’t want to rush. That is fine, scissors cut better than a new blade as the dry glue made the carpet really firm. Scissors worked well anyway. We bought two packs of trim tools and they have been brilliant, there is a tool for every job, all sizes. Great investment to make life easier. We are so happy with the finish of the window, we love this carpet and the colour. #fordcustomcamper #campervanconversion #campervanconversionuk #campervancarpetlining #vanconversion

The carpet trimming begins. There is no making this part sound easy. It takes hours, if you’ve never done it before you have to take your time so you don’t cut short. Very happy with the join from the poptop frame. #camperconversion #fordcustomcamper #campervanconversionuk #campercarpet

Exciting stage carpeting the walls but you have to be patient it takes time. We’ve never done this before and we want it to look professional so we took our time. There will be several videos of each stage. This on us just getting it up. The trimming is what takes the time. Key points; we are so glad we bought the right tools. That we both have masks, we never spray without a mask on even with the van being well ventilated. Have a sharp pair of scissors. Don’t rush it. If you get tired stop, the glue will keep its stickiness for days.
We also absolutely love the fabric we bought from @liningdirectuk it’s is such good quality and stretches so well. We also love this colour, it makes the can feel bigger. So glad we didn’t go dark. #campervanconversion #fordcustomcamper #vanconversionuk #vanconversioncarpet

Ford Transit Custom SWB Conversion. So excited to get the first bit of carpet done last weekend. We took Leigh’s advice after watching both his carpeting videos @combe_valley_campers if you’ve never carpeted then start on something small. Well worth watching all of Combe Valleys build videos, they are so helpful.

So we needed the wheel arches done to get the floor cut. We are over the moon with this carpet. This colour is beautiful, it’s stone coloured, they call it ivory on their website. It’s great value for money, it feels such good quality and Gary was able to stretch over the arches with no cuts needed. The fabric is made Italy. Would recommend it, check out @liningdirectuk for fabric and more. #vanconversion #fordcustomcamper #ford #camperlife

We were hoping to carpet this weekend but the electric cables haven’t arrived yet, so had to change our plans and hold off carpeting until electric first fix is done. I need to be patient, so looking forward to getting the carpet on 😄

We bought the carpet from @liningdirectuk really helpful guys. We wanted stone colour, we want it to be light. This colour was tricky to source but they have a carpet very similar. Their 4 way stretch carpets are from Italy and this colour translates to ivory but is very close to stone as I know it. Their photo on the website doesn’t do the colour justice.
Bought 12m carpet with 12 cans of adhesive. #campervan #campervancarpet #fordcustom #campervanconversion

What a week! 6 days and we’ve gone from a very dark plain interior to something much brighter and personalised! We love how it’s come together! There’s so much more to do but we love it! (Scroll to the end to see the before)
