⁣ 🔸Please join us on Tuesday, May 26th - a day that happens to simultaneously be his birthday, as well as the name of his beloved daughter - to celebrate the life and legacy of the Patriarch of the Floridau music family.⁣⁣
⁣ 🔸Darryl Quesenberry a.k.a. “Animal” a.k.a. “Rev. Funky D” was an integral pillar of the Tampa Bay music community. His musical accomplishments were great, but his steadfast devotion to his craft and relentless generosity to younger musicians successfully cultivated a musical dynasty that will endure forever.⁣⁣
⁣ 🔸Animal’s aptly-named “Funky Seeds” took root and grew into a glorious garden where new talent had the freedom to flourish. We honor his legacy through all of the actively performing musicians who owe their name to his.⁣⁣
⁣ 🔸Starting at 2pm EST, we will be broadcasting a lovingly crafted memorial program consisting of pre-recorded eulogies, tributes, and past performances, as well as several live streaming musical performances specifically curated to illustrate the musical legacy he has left behind. Featured live acts include some of the first musicians the man known as “Animal” brought onto his stages in the 90’s and early 00’s, moving into the early OBJ and “Funky Seeds” days, and finally to the musicians he continued bringing into his bands during his rebirth as the “Rev. Funky D” up until his departure to wherever the Gypsy Wind has carried him now⁣⁣

After facing the loss of your mother, it can be incredibly difficult to watch your friends, family members, and even strangers with their mothers, knowing that your mom has passed away and you can't do the same.

This day of celebration may turn into a day of mourning and nostalgia, but although your mom is no longer with you in a physical sense, her love will forever live within you.

So on a day like Mother's Day, it's understandable that you might cry and grieve the fact that she isn't here with you, but try to also remind yourself that her greatest gift remains — and that gift is you.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to a woman who was taken way too soon! She would light a room up with her smile and make people pee their pants she’d have us laughing so hard. You were seriously the best. I miss you so much and I wish I could squeeze you on this day of celebrating you as a mother and then we would probably bitch at each other about something stupid 😂💕💐😘 Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, grandmas, women who are trying so hard to be moms, fur moms, and the dads who are moms and dads!

I can’t wait to be half the mother my mom was! 💕

@passages.life this is my beautiful Mother, Joann Holguin. She taught me how to live thru Gods strength, faith, and love for family. She made it thru her life never quitting, she pushed thru every roadblock and I think of her every day. I too, will keep pushing thru every roadblock until my job here is complete. I have a couple all-time favorite memories together with my mom. When I graduated from high school, you could hear her screaming for me during commencement. When I graduated community college my mom again was in the audience cheering me on. She attended every single one of my basketball games home and away. And of course we could hear her cheering. I graduate from University, no commencement I will miss her cheering me on. Right now, I am cheering my mom on. She is going through her third battle with skin cancer. So her face sort of looks like raw hamburger right now. She loves having to wear a mask because of the “19” because people are not staring at her. She has always been there for me cheering me on. Now I am there for her cheering her on!
especially on Sunday, it’s her birthday and Mother’s Day and I hope to make her feel as special to me as I am to her.
