Here’s to us! To the ones that shape, inspire, and move through this world in ways that cannot be defined, contained, or put into a box. The rule breakers, the care takers, the dream makers, to the women who show up for themselves and for others. To the ones who dare, who create, who love wildly, who keep going (and also take a break when needed haha..)

There’s no single way to be a woman. But hopefully, it means standing tall in your truth, knowing that your way is the way, simply because it’s yours.

Womanhood is found in the quiet strength of those who carry, in the voices of those who disrupt, in the silent revolutions happening every day in boardrooms, studios, households, and streets.

We create more and more space for a world that values connection just as much as success.

And yeah. For me, every day is Women’s Day ;)

So grateful for all the women in my life.
And of course, everyone else 🥰.

LINK IN BIO | Synchronous (2022) | 17' | Dutch, English subtitles

Three years ago, the 14th of January, my grandpa passed away after two weeks in hospital. It was a difficult time with Corona. Just for 2021, I had the plan to make a short passion project about my grandparents. About their little traditions and their love language. But times turns out different.

My granddad has always been special to me. He was a storyteller himself, wasn’t afraid of silence and touched many hearts.
After winning the Gelderland Film Pitch 3 at @goshorts I made my short passionate project Synchronous. It was screened at Go Short Nijmegen, Go Short Arnhem and Omroep Gelderland. Thankful for it all. Still, I have the feeling the film is waiting to be seen.

Last Sunday, the 14th of January, I woke up and knew: I am going to publish it myself on Vimeo. Why not? Every film has a different road. And maybe the road is different than expected. What means a successful film? Maybe it means to me to connect, touch and bring people together with film, words, images, stories and music.

So hereby, Synchronous (17') free to all, as I like to share this personal project we made with a lovely team. I learned so much from this project and I have something tangible to cherish the love of my granddad and grandma, and their wisdom, forever.

Thanks again to my grandma and all the people and organisations that made it possible! 💖

Two of my favorite days this year—shooting and premiering my first film 🤍 Gratitude to everyone who played a part in bringing this shorty short to life. Biggg shoutout to @jessie.celine for turning my very personal story into a beautiful script, @katjavandenbroeke for translating my vision into frames, and a big TY to the smiliest whilst hard-working producer @leontienvanhattem, her big little brother @ralphvanhatttem for the photos, and graduated from the Script Academy! We worden steeds vaker gevraagd door andere bedrijven om te helpen. Zo werken wij samen met @vrbieb voor het schrijven van de VR scenario's.

Ook bijzonder om hiervoor samen te werken met een oud-docente van onze opleiding. Froukje van Houten speelt een vrouw met dementie in dit scenario. Mooi om elkaar zo te treffen in het werkveld.
Ook speelt het @eelderbloemenkoor mee. Zij zijn een geweldige toevoeging aan deze VR experience.

🌈Samen met een fantastisch team heb ik met heel veel liefde en plezier de eerste VPRO TikTok-based documentaireserie gemaakt!🌈

In 𝔾𝕖𝕖𝕟 ℍ𝕠𝕜𝕛𝕖 𝕍𝕠𝕠𝕣 𝕆𝕟𝕤 geven vijf jongeren zelf invulling aan hun gender. Jongen, meisje, beide of geen van beide: zij bepalen zelf wie ze zijn en hoe ze door het leven willen gaan. Elke aflevering wordt één van hen bij een belangrijke stap in zijn/haar/hen leven gevolgd. Een stap die bijdraagt aan wie ze zijn en hoe ze zich willen uiten.

🫶🏼Een serie met een boodschap en vijf kanjers van kinderen die ons toelieten in hun leven. 🥰

Happy to share a tiny (ungraded) teaser of a personal project I’ve been working on. I’m taking my first steps into the world of directing and writing next to my big love acting.
It’s a story about a subject that’s very close to my heart, shot at my Dutch grandparents’ home next to the house I grew up in.

It has been such a special project to be working on, a big thank you to everyone involved! More soon ❤️
