i’ve watched this back more than 10 times and cried the whole way through every time. i hope it makes you feel like you were there, just like it does for me. the night before, i was spray painting pipes in a parking lot. the next morning, those same pipes held up a wall full of books that made people feel something. that’s what this really was. small pieces, built one at a time, until it turned into a morning people could walk into. thank you to: @lil.kikos for stitching every name live. i wouldn’t pick anybody else to do my first event with 🤍 @phincafeus for the iced vietnamese coffee. i was proud to share one of my favorites in the bay ☕️ filmers: @_jeeessicaaa_ for being down last minute and being amazing at catching every little moment so i could feel it all again (you too Jen 🥺) bestie: @jayycole_ for moving your world around to fly out last minute, because you knew i wouldn’t ask for help and you stepped in anyway. lil sis from a different miss: @xjenylynm for clearing your whole day the second you heard about it, and treating my dream like it was your own. it only gets better from here, and the thought of that is insane to me. see you in december 🎧 #jazzlesbooks #stepsandchatter #jazzlesdreams #audiobookwalk #bayareaevents

most days i talk into a camera and hope someone’s on the other side. on sunday, they were sitting on blankets in front of me. writing down books that broke them. answering questions out loud that i usually only ask through a screen. i’ve spent so long being the one who says this book wrecked me, here’s why. i didn’t realize how much i needed to hear it back. to stand at a wall full of other people’s heartbreak and feel less alone in mine. this day is proof that books bring people together. we just need a space to do so. steps and chatter will go places. But where to? drop your city and i’ll start dreaming 🤍 Special shoutout to- @lil.kikos for the amazing live embroidery work! Book him for your events! @phincafeus for providing us delicious Vietnamese coffee during our event 🤍 my heart was very, very happy! @xjenylynm and @jayycole_ for taking the wonderful photos throughout the day 🤍 #jazzlesbooks #stepsandchatter #audiobookwalk #bookevents #bayareabookevents
