✈️🍻 Come fly with me!

Four beers. Four styles. One great little flight through the New Jersey craft beer scene!

This time, we’re keeping things local with a visit to Lions Roar Brewing Company in Westfield, NJ!

🍺 Lions Roar Brewing Co. (@lionsroarbrew)
📍 Westfield, New Jersey
🍻 The Flight:
🍒 Sour
🌿 Session IPA
🍂 Märzen
🌾 Kölsch

One of my favorite things about visiting a brewery is ordering a flight. It’s an opportunity to explore different styles, appreciate the variety of what a brewery has to offer, and maybe discover something you wouldn’t normally order.

And this one certainly covered some ground!

From the tart character of a sour to the hop-forward personality of a session IPA, the rich maltiness of a traditional Märzen, and the crisp, refreshing character of a Kölsch, there’s a little something here for just about every beer enthusiast.

But there’s another reason to celebrate Lions Roar.

The brewery recently entered an exciting new chapter under the ownership of Maddie Bowen (@maddiebowen), who has been part of its story since before the doors first opened. From helping build the business to eventually owning it herself, that’s a pretty incredible local success story!

And it’s exactly the kind of thing that makes supporting neighborhood breweries so rewarding.

There’s something special about having a place like this right in our own backyard. Good beer, a welcoming community, and people who genuinely care about keeping local craft brewing alive.

If you’re in the Westfield area, Lions Roar is well worth adding to your brewery travels!

Here’s to exploring different styles, discovering local favorites, and enjoying the journey one flight at a time. ✈️🍻

Drink local. Support local. Cheers to great Jersey beer! 🍻

We love all things Wednesday, and what better way to wrap up spooky season than a night out in Downtown Westfield?

Wednesday Night Crawlers is back with six participating bars and restaurants, specialty seasonal cocktails, and plenty of Addams-inspired surprises along the way!

This is a self-guided crawl, so grab your friends, follow the map or make your own path, and explore at your own pace. No tickets or registration required.

🎟️ CRAWL, COLLECT & WIN! Pick up a passport at any participating location and collect stamps as you go. Visit at least four of the six stops for a chance to win a $150 Downtown Westfield Gift Card.

Whether you're in it for the cocktails, the entertainment, or a little of both, it's one last Wednesday worth celebrating before October disappears. 👀

Our Gents Book Club packed the big table last week for Daniel Mason’s North Woods - a book about one patch of New England land passing through centuries of hands turned out to be the perfect thing to discuss with a beer in hand. Thanks to Maddie and the team at @lionsroarbrew for keeping our glasses full!

Somewhere between the second round and the third opinion on that ending, we agreed: this is a book that sticks with you a bit.

Thanks to the guys for another great conversation and for proving once again that the best discussions happen between the shelves. From McCarthy to Bukowski to Mason, we’ve covered some ground. Next up? Faulkner’s classic, As I Lay Dying.

Want in? Stop by the counter or DM us to get on the list. 📚🌲

Today may be Thursday, but we made our last visit to @lionsroarbrew immediately following our last rugby match up in Union County. It’s become a tradition of ours to support our local brewery whenever in that area for our match. Afterall, Saturday’s a Rugby day🏉

Scenes from Oktoberfest at @lionsroarbrew this past Saturday, September 26th. We had a blast, nor'easter be damned!

Thank you to Lion's Roar for having us, and to @chip_and_the_dips for sharing the stage with us (and for inviting our singer @etgers to join you for a song; see the last video). And a HUGE shout out to @_hallett_ for filling in on bass on short notice with no prep time!
