WHEN DAVID SLAYED GOLIATH ☠️ 🎯 It was 2011. I was serving as the associate athletic director for external affairs at @lipscombuniversity alongside my good friend and current Lipscomb athletic director @philiphutcheson. @nashvillebiz announced its inaugural Music City Brand Madness contest. The contest featured 64 of Nashville's best-loved brands in an online, bracket-formatted contest. The contest featured some of Nashville's most iconic brands including... @gibsonguitar @googooclusters @dollargeneral @opry @theryman @crackerbarrel @vanderbiltu @predsnhl @titans @cma @gaylordoprylandresort Lipscomb was honored and excited to be invited to the dance too. Reader and fan votes determined who won each round. Round 1: Lipscomb defeated arch-rival @belmontu 61%-39%. Round 2: Lipscomb soundly beat @tractorsupply 65%-35%. Round 3: Lipscomb easily handled @jalexandersrestaurant 92%-8%. Round 4: Lipscomb dominated @lovelesscafe 89%-11%. Round 5: Lipscomb blitzed @yazoobrew 81%-19%. Finals: Lipscomb won a hard-fought battle against our dear friends at @puritydairy 58%-42%. LIPSCOMB WON IT ALL ❣️ 🦬 💜 🤯 ‼️🔥 😲 HOW ⁉️ ⁉️ ⁉️ 🤯 🤯 🤯 The answer was simple. 📩 An email list and a chief hype man❣️ 🗣️ Three years earlier I created a weekly email newsletter recapping the previous week's athletic news. It went out like clockwork every Thursday morning at 8 a.m. It had swelled to 28,000 recipients by the time this competition was launched. We asked Bison Nation to vote and share. And they did ✅ 🦬 ✅ 🦬 ✅ 🦬 ✅ 🦬 ✅ 🦬 ✅ 🦬 Fast forward to 2026. Getting people to opt-in to your email list is still the game to win. 💥 I'm looking for my next professional opportunity💥 Need a chief hype man⁉️ I ain't hard to find 🙌 GO BISONS ‼️ 🦬 🦬 🦬 💜 💜 💜

How rich do I want to be? Rich in joy. Rich in the smiles on people’s faces. I can confidently say this was the best week of my life. I’ve never felt so full of joy. I hope this dump gives a glimpse of what it truly means to follow Christ. Go out and serve, love your neighbor, and seek joy, it will change your life. This. A team of girls, past & present, that desired to pray over their coach as he departs to go coach at different university. Instead of being bitter, they wanted to honor him and the impact he has had in their lives. Instead of being jealous, they chose to pray for him and his new team, and his new community.
