POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Huge thanks to Nakiyah Hayling, radio promoter and Gospel music marketing maven extraordinaire, for stopping by my Songwriting for the Music Industry class at @lipscombmusic today to talk all things music! I got to work with Nakiyah when I was helping eOne build a publishing company. It’s so fun bringing my friends from the industry to campus and seeing them pour into the next generation. The students appreciate it so much! Thanks Kiyah!

Huge thanks to Reiley Moore (of Capitol Christian Music Group) for visiting our Intro to the Music Industry class at Lipscomb University School of Music this week. Reiley graduated from our Music Industry Studies program three years ago. She started at Capitol CMG (after her internship) as a temp scanning old artist contracts, and she now runs digital marketing for WorshipTogether.

Reiley walked us through what label marketing looks like right now: winning the first three seconds of a video, why saves and shares matter more than likes, building a marketing plan for every song, and using AI without losing what’s real.

Her advice for getting in the door: “I just learned to say yes to whatever they needed. That’s how I learned.”

Proud of you, Reiley. Thanks for coming back. The students LOVED you!

Meet @thearcadianwild 🩵

The Arcadian Wild is an indie folk/pop group from Nashville, TN, led by songwriters Isaac Horn, Lincoln Mick and Bailey Warren, The Arcadian Wild confidently inhabits and explores an intersection of genre, blending the traditional with the contemporary. Combining elements of progressive bluegrass, folk, and formal vocal music, The Arcadian Wild offer up songs of invitation; calls to come and see, to find refuge and rest, to journey and wonder, to laugh and cry, to share joy and community and sing along.

We are so grateful to call them Lipscomb University alum, and the hosts of Wild Bison Fest! 👏

Meet @calebchristopheredwards ✨

Caleb Christopher Edwards blends a battered guitar, a mischievous mandolin, a haunted banjo, his signature tenor, and thoughtful poetry into a homemade brew of Appalachian delight. Edwards, more brewed than brewer, presents a story of wonder, doubt, lament, and hope wrapped in tattered corduroy. Listeners are invited to fill their pints with the imagination and community that presents itself in Edwards’ music and to be reminded of their own beautiful humanity. Caleb Christopher Edwards is a pilgrim, a poet, and a truly refreshing glass of American folk music.

Come hear his beautiful melodies on the Main Stage THIS SATURDAY! 🤩

Mad props and major thanks to Scott B Bomar for coming to my 8 AM “Music Entrepreneurship” class during his busy #Americanafest week to share his inspiring story. I have admired Scott’s Grammy winning liner notes and his incredible books about music AND his groundbreaking Songcraft podcast for years. Turns out he was reading my work back when he was in college! Scott has worked with absolute LEGENDS - and is truly just getting started. Thanks, sir. Our students are better for your investment!
