Wow! What a day! What an amazing experience.
A beautiful day ( and hot) to fire Raku with @fordcitypotters
Everyone’s pieces were spectacular!
It never ceases to amaze me what a little heat and fire can do to transform a piece of clay. So much fun
Thank you🫶for the experience @g_potspottery @lisagpoddery

The day has come…. Glaze Day. My least favourite part about pottery😂 But when @lisagpoddery said it was time… I knew 😫🙏so there I was in the wee hours of the night, brushing and layering glazes away, and hoping to the kiln gods they survive the glaze fire.

A labour of love and community. Behold the Ford City Potters studio backsplash. Created by us, pretty much FOR us...you know? We love it so much. Thanks @artkatlaura for the expert eye (it looks so good from every angle, near and far) also to Dan Turlescu, our talented handyman for the perfect execution with minimum disruption. 10/10. No notes. #yqg #backsplash #potterystudio #potteryofinstagram #potterylove

✨ @unhahill is all I have to say!!!
I had the best morning learning from one of the sweetest, loving potters I’ve followed for years on instagram. Unha’s energy is like no one else. The moment I met her I felt a warm loving embrace, plus so many amazing new techniques I can bring back to my students. 💕
Thanks for hosting this amazing workshop and for having me @fordcitypotters !!
Oh and the best sandwich after from @chancecoffee … like legit legit!! 🫠

Last night a special private party, one of our co-owner's (@lisagpoddery) aunties, nieces-in-law, cousins, second cousins, cousin's' wives, sisters-in-law, and cousins' wives moms tried the wheel, made some special pieces, had a bite, a catch up and generally brought the sweetest vibes to the studio. This is your reminder that doing things together keeps us close, which is more important than ever... thank you @g_potspottery and @obanpottery for making it a really special night. #yqg #potteryclass #potterylove #potterystudio #potteryofinstagram

🏺✨ Friday is Clay & Ceramics Night at the Mistletoe Market!

We’re kicking off the 8th Annual Mistletoe Market with a celebration of all things clay!

Thanks to @fordcitypotters and @asketchypotteryshop , Windsor-Essex has a wave of new ceramic artists — and you’ll see them alongside seasoned pros for one inspiring day of pottery magic. 🧡

👐 Over 25 local potters — from wheel-throwing veterans to first-time makers — plus clay jewelry artists bringing their sparkly polymer creations to the mix.

It’s the perfect combo: wear your handmade earrings while sipping something festive from a new ceramic mug. ☕💎

📍 Water’s Edge Event Centre
🗓️ Friday, Dec 12 | 2–8PM

If you’re a pottery lover (or full-on clay addict 😅), this is your day to shop, sip, and celebrate handmade.

We recycle all our clay here at @fordcitypotters (or rather @kstansart works her magic), so this chain sculpture represents what our reclaimed clay might look like at any given stage, depending on the combination of stoneware that went through the pugmill—from white, to speckled, to red, brown, black and granite coloured clay. Side note: local potter, a legend named Ken Friesen, sold to @g_potspottery the pugmill years ago. Prayers up for its continued health and prosperity; it is
our collaborator on these chain sculptures and every other piece made here.
