One of the most impactful moments for us at Legend Golden Care Foundation this year was providing legal and psychosocial support to 23 victims of the #EndBadGovernance protests in Borno State. These brave individuals endured unimaginable trauma simply for exercising their fundamental right to peaceful demonstration. After their release, we organized a comprehensive group therapy session to help them begin their journey toward healing. With lawyers, clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, and medical doctors, we addressed the many layers of trauma they had encountered—legal battles, psychological scars, and physical injuries. The right to peaceful protest is a cornerstone of any democracy. No one should ever have to endure what these young men—and indeed countless other citizens—experienced in their bid to let their voices be heard. This is why we remain steadfast in our mission to promote justice, equity, and the dignity of all people. Together, we can build a society where social justice and human rights are upheld for all This project is funded by the European Union through the @irct_global International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims and #UnitedAgainstTorture Consortium @#HumanRights #EndBadGovernance #SocialJustice #TraumaSupport #Empowerment #LegendGoldenCareFoundation

Today, December 5th, LGCF was pleased to host Lisa Henry, Secretary-General of the International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims @irct_global and Mr. Roberto Frifini, Advocacy Officer at IRCT. It was an engaging and interactive session where we discussed LGCF’s impacts so far, strategies, and refined approaches. The delegates from IRCT showed great enthusiasm for LGCF’s holistic rehabilitation and psychosocial support program, funded by the European Union @euinnigeria through IRCT and the United Against Torture Consortium. We look forward to continued support and more impactful projects together.
