Timelapse of wrapping up Xena’s leg wound.

All topical herbal products can be found on the website
www.sweethorseherbs.com

☑️ Wound and Thrush Spray
☑️ Wound Clay
☑️ raw honey

Put non-adherent pads on the wound, with the Wound Clay, raw honey, and Wound and Thrush spray; wrap with brown gauze, not too tight… just to secure in place. Use padded cotton roll to form a soft buffer for the wound. Wrap securely, snug, not tight with vet wrap or self adhesive bandage wrap. Secure at the top with 4” elastic adhesive tape; partially stuck to hair, partially stuck to the bandage. This helps to prevent the whole bandage from slipping down the leg.

Wildfires are getting started early this year in parts of the west and midwest. Nebraska has been on fire for weeks, several fires in western South Dakota as well. It is extremely dry!

Here are my top 2 blends for supporting your horse if they have been exposed to wildfire smoke.

🌿 Respiratory Dry Cough Blend
🌿 Enviro DTX

Prevention is the best medicine! Support their body before they need it! These herbs 🌿 are all human grade, so you can take them too!

There will be a time in your life when the decision to buy your dream horse will seem irresponsible and even selfish, in the midst of having kids, and on a tight budget.

But you should absolutely do everything in your power to make sure that you buy that horse.

Because that horse will help you heal things that you didn’t even know were coming, and that horse will ultimately be the catalyst and the inspiration that changes the entire trajectory of your life.

Life is short. Buy the Horse.

Life has been so busy. This season it feels like I can barely keep up with all that is demanded of me. My nervous system has taken a toll, and I’ve experienced different levels of adrenal fatigue. From running my businesses, moving, scheduling, kids new school schedules, being a single mom, and taking on extra side work, just to make ends meet… all these things have pushed my own horses to the back burner.

It has been hard on me to say the least. My horses are my happy place, they feed my soul in ways that nothing else can. I’m so grateful that they have a large pasture and each other to just be horses. I love that they allow me the grace to just pick up where we left off, and that they are happy and healthy.

Horses are good for the soul. Time spent with them in this season of busyness reminds me to slow down, stop and smell the horses, because it’s so vitally important for my own health and well being. I’m so grateful for them.

Having horses is a huge responsibility and expense… but time spent with them is worth every penny.

Do you feel the same way? I’d love to hear your experiences of balancing life, especially with kids, and making time to actually live and spend the time with the horses you love.

Dang I love my job! Had some challenging horses lately, and then last week I worked on a sweet three year old who was so mellow and willing. No sedation, and a joy to work with. I love helping horses in this way!

A balanced mouth is the key to equine health. The teeth affect hoof balance, the muscular system, and the microbiome. Balancing the teeth helps the whole body come back into its natural balance! Feeding supplements becomes more effective because the uptake of nutrients in the gut becomes optimized!
Muscles build effortlessly because the neurological system is now firing, because of proper teeth balance, and maximum range of motion is the jaw, and resonance on the surface of the teeth. Yes! Teeth are neurological!

Patching a floor to ceiling crack. This crack appeared right where an addition was put on on the house a few years ago. Lots of mud to float this out and make it appear flat on this big wall.

Cold weather and injuries…
Extremely cold temps here the last few days with lows down to -32 degrees Fahrenheit! The horses are staying toasty warm in their blankets, and eating lots of hay! I’m so thankful for a tank heater that keeps the water from freezing… they drink a lot of water!

My colt injured his knee, and was laying down resting when I went to check on him, he kept pointing his nose towards his knee- trying to show me that he got hurt. There was a little bit of swelling, but he is still walking on it- good thing!

I started him on Painaway herbs right away. This is a blend of herbs that works very much like Bute, but with no harmful side effects. This blend should be in your barns’ first aid kit! It is super effective for reducing swelling and pain.

Of course I pulled out the Bemer boots! Pulsed Electro Magnetic Therapy helps to increase circulation at the micro-capillary level, and speeds up the body’s natural healing process.
