I don’t typically love kids. They’re hard to deal with, teenagers especially so.
But, every once in awhile, I meet a kid that makes me change my mind. Isaac is one of those kids. He works so hard, listens, and genuinely WANTS to improve. He’s easy to coach and corner. (I mean, we all have our days that make people want to choke us… but he had fewer than most kids 😜)

So proud of this kid and the fight he and Oscar put on last night.

This kid walked into my gym just a few months shy of 2 years ago. He had some struggles, some uphill life challenges. It seemed he was searching for some type of outlet, something to keep his head straight. Well... either he found it, or it found him. By "it" I mean Muay Thai! He jumped in head first and put in the work. He has progressed incredibly well...learns fast, works hard, trains hard, is always respectful & disciplined, and is pretty darn tough! I didn't know what to think after his first day in class. I've seen MANY in similar shoes as him quit really quick. But not him. He doesn't have the word quit in his vocabulary. I like that because I don't have that word in mine either! I have watched Muay Thai change countless lives in a positive way, and I'm watching it work in him too! Pretty cool to see, if ya ask me. Isaac, I'm proud of how you've managed to remain focused despite the previous distractions and I know your future is bright. Know this: good things don't come to those who wait. Good things come to those who work their asses off to get what they strive for. Keep pushing forward!
