When we include God in everything we do, our daily activities can become moments of worship. Growing up as a competitive gymnast and dancer conditioning my body was part of my everyday life. It was used as a way of strengthening my muscles in order to perform certain tasks and unfortunately it was also a tool of negative consequence. That belief system that I need to punish my body, restrict food, and ignore rest followed me for many years. The all or nothing cycle was difficult to over come and I’m still working on it. You want to know the biggest thing that helped? Prayer. Praying over my workouts, my struggles, and my food. And also changing my view of what “being consistent” meant for me. I thought being consistent meant showing up everyday. Consistently performing at the same level no matter what. Then I realized, that is the exact opposite of being consistent. I began to understand that long term consistency means not everyday will look the same. It means that some days I will have a great workout and some days my body needs rest. Some days I will only be able to walk my dog or stretch for 10 minutes and that’s enough for that day. It means picking back up even when you think it’s been too long of a break. It means giving your self grace. Our bodies are meant to move. When we include God in that movement, working out can be so much more than a 60 minute gym session to try and achieve a certain goal weight. It’s no longer a punishment. It’s a celebration. A celebration of this gift God has given us. Our health is our wealth. Let’s celebrate that wealth with joyous action of our bodies. Praying gratitude to God for every gym session, Pilates class, hike, or whatever activity you enjoy doing in this special body you’re in. xoxo-Flourish

REAL TALK I have let these three things block my creativity way too much during my life. I remember having to draw a self portrait for an art class in middle school and ripping it up half way through because it wasn’t “perfect”. Being left with the feeling of self loathing and frustration. That is just one example. I have had countless of ideas that I never began, being held back by the thought that they would never be perfect. Or, never wanting to revisit any of my creations after they were done because I would pick out the points that felt imperfect. I would dread group projects growing up because I would be consumed with fear of what the other people would think about my ideas. And I denied my passions, pushing my God given personality down, to fit a mold I thought people wanted me to fit in. Now with Flourish out in the open, imposter syndrome is a beast all on its own. All too often thinking “why would anyone care what I have to say?” or “who am I to create this?” The truth I’ve learned is this: If you don’t create it, someone will. When our dreams, passions, and creations are in the pursuit of God, they are not our own. They are divinely lead by heaven. If you feel called to create something and don’t follow through with it, someone else will be given that calling because whatever it is, the world needs it. “Remember, remember that it is not the work of God that is frustrated, but the work of men.” D&C 3:3 Which one of these do you find holding you back? The world needs your creativity.

Hello, I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Madee and Flourish has been a dream in the making for years. Through my journey in the life, the importance of healing and creativity has been testified to me through the Spirit of God. Many times that has happened through dance, pilates, sound, and breath. My prayer is that this business will glorify God as the Flourish team strives to follow Jesus’s instruction of loving God, loving ourselves, and loving our fellow beings in this earthly journey to become like our Heavenly Parents. Big thank you to @lisantaylor for a magical creative experience with this session 🫶🏼
