Thinking about my top 10 #edtech experiences this year and one recent one stands out! A three day Christmas Party hosted by the best Kathy Hurley! ❤️🎄❤️ Each December we converge on Naples to celebrate with friends we work with year round to enjoy time together without work! This year Kari Stubbs had a great idea to rent a house! Jerri Uhlig Kemble Janelle Zonts and Christine Wagner Fox made amazing roommates and we enjoyed a seafood dinner, boat light parade, beach time, 5pm Margaritas at Margaritaville, sunsets, parties, brunch and beach town shopping! I am grateful to work with the kindest people! 💕 #fridayshenanigans #Day1

✨ This is what a living legend looks like! Last weekend, I had the joy of joining 200 friends, family members and incredible colleagues from across the country in Chicago to celebrate the incredible Kathy Hurley on her 80th birthday! ✨

Kathy has been a role model to me—and to so many others—for how to build authentic and meaningful community in education. Her ability to connect people, open doors, and mentor with pure generosity is unmatched. Over her 40+ years in the industry, from executive roles at Pearson and IBM to co-founding Girls Thinking Global, she has impacted lives across the globe.🌎

Kathy continues to inspire through her board service, consulting, international speaking, and co-authoring two powerful books that lift women leaders and entrepreneurs.💕

Kathy, thank you for being a guiding light, a connector, and a friend. Celebrating you last weekend was a reminder of the lasting impact and amazing influence you’ve had on all of us. Happy 80th, you are just getting started—you are a true legend! 💜Can’t wait to see how you top this two day event at your 90th!!🎂

Welp, summer is officially over…

The cool fall air is a balm to mourning the beautiful warm nights and long shadows of the last few months. Time just keeps speeding up as I dive full-on into the busy fall months. Feel free to put a meeting on my calendar where we disrupt efficiency and talk about nothing 🙏

Today edleaders, industry executives, and various education technology associations joined forces with the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN), SETDA & SIIA for #EdTech Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill!

Using one unified voice to advocate for student-centered digital learning and pushing for policies that empower every learner across the nation through erate & ESEA.

We are grateful to stand alongside education leaders and partners across the country to ensure every student has access to high-quality, future-ready learning opportunities.

With President Trump’s recent Executive Order naming AI Education a national priority, we stressed the urgent need to include school districts and states in the AI Education Task Force, to invest in AI Professional Development for administrators, educators, and communities, prioritizing student data privacy, and strengthening K–12 cybersecurity.

Proud to represent Florida and the amazing education community! Let’s keep the momentum going! Together, we’re shaping policies that matter.

Thank you the event sponsors ClassLink CDW and edWeb.net for supporting this important event.
