#tbt to my FIRST YEAR ever racing mountain bikes and I qualified to go to the 1997 world championships in Château d’Oex Switzerland 🇨🇭!!! Needless to say it was quite the eye opener with the handful of races I had been in up to this point. And I remember the first day of practice I ate 💩 right in front of @brianlopes on this bottom section that can only be explained as “marble with snot” (it was like riding on ice) and he asked if I was ok and in my mind I was like “woah, Lopes talked to me”. . Man that fckn hurt too”🥴. . 😂
Even though I was new and just kind of luckily jumped into this sport it was such an amazing experience to be part of USA cycling and to be around the top US pros that I had been looking at regularly in magazines
🤘😲🤘

Pic 1 Lisa
Sher was using this prototype Rohloff 14-speed rear hub which, though still heavier than a traditional derailleur system, saved weight by negating the need for any front chain rollers. Rohloff seems dedicated to continuing the R&D process at the races which should help the product’s development immensely.

Happy International Women’s Mountain Bike Day to all of the ladies in my life that have helped further fuel my passion for this amazing sport! 🚵‍♀️🩵🥰 I’ve been riding now for 24 years, but the last few have really made my love for mountain biking multiply by 💯!

Thank you to the women I’ve met over the last 6 years living in Colorado, many of them now great friends- who gently push me to conquer fears, keep advancing my skills, grow my confidence, and only further ignite my passion to help other women find the same true happiness (maybe obsession 😜) on the bike through @girlsgearsandbeers and @rowdyryderacademy

Thank you also to the women in this industry who also keep breaking barriers to get us more recognition in this sport, and further encourage others to get on a mountain bike, and see how their lives can change in so many ways 😊- @joannajyates @ladiesallride @lisasher @womensmtbnetwork @jessthemaker and the ITs of my new @icp.bike family. 🥰

SHRED ON, sisters!!! 🤙🏼🩵🩵🩵🩵

#tbt to oh, somewhere around #1999 - and that was a big year…the world was about to end in Y2K - had to make the most of that last year 😂

Pretty sure you took this photo @ianhylands (Bjorn was somewhere around filming)

Such a rad trip with @daamo2 @lisasher @elkebrutsaert @marla.streb and myself in the Utah / Nevada desert. What could possibly go wrong?!?

The bike I’m on: the K2 Animal DH rig. What a weapon!

I think the thing I miss about those days is no one running to check their phones…we had all that unadulterated natural time to really hang. Not judging about phone use - I’m on mine all the time! 🙌🏻 *evolution* or something
