This year's San Francisco Fall Show gave me countless treasures to behold, the inspiration of vignettes of beautiful interior design, and interesting panels with top design industry professionals speaking. Thank you Suzanne Tucker for making this happen as one of the nation's top events to promote the decorative arts and antiques. I was honored to be on your Design Council once again.#luxuryinteriordesign #artandantiques #antiquecollection

“Métallique Chic” at @sffallshow🪞This year I teamed up with my dear friend @stapransdesign on the fabulous jewelry stand for @tamsenz by Ann Ziff.

From conception to creation, we had just over a month to bring these wisteria-inspired gilded reliefs to life, layering aluminum leaves glazed over molding paste to create an antique silver sculpture effect. The result is quite impressive! Stop by to take a closer look ;)

Last night in Healdsburg was a beautiful celebration of design, community, and the people who make this industry so special.

A special thank you to IRG Stone, the presenting sponsor of the Design Healdsburg Welcome Party—and, to me, so much more than a partner. They’ve become my adopted family in the design community. Their passion for natural stone, their incredible eye for sourcing, and their collection of truly exceptional slabs make them a standout resource for designers and architects.

From rare marbles and quartzites to onyx and other extraordinary natural stones, IRG consistently brings materials that elevate a project from beautiful to unforgettable.

So grateful to celebrate alongside my IRG family, surrounded by so many talented people in the design community, in one of Healdsburg’s newest gathering spaces.

Design. Stone. Community. Sonoma. What a night.

Some spaces are beautiful to look at. Others are intentionally designed around how we feel within them.

This was one of those spaces.

@lisastaprans created A Meditation Room with Embedded Intentions for the San Francisco Decorator Showcase, bringing together design, nature, sound, and sensory experience with well being at the center.

What I loved about Lisa’s vision was the depth behind the beauty. Her work explores how our surroundings are received by the brain and body, and how thoughtful design influences the way we feel within a space.

Then there was @plantwave @natureofnow

PlantWave brought Plant Music and Symphony into the room, translating changes in plants into musical signals and creating an entirely different relationship between nature and sound.

As someone whose work is deeply rooted in sound, intention, and creating experiences people feel, being part of this room was incredibly special.

Years later, I still think about it.

Beautiful design gets our attention. Intention gives it meaning.

Grateful to Lisa Staprans, PlantWave, and the many artists, makers, designers, and partners whose work came together to create this experience.

A beautiful moment that still stays with me.

I had the opportunity to bring sound into “A Meditation Room with Embedded Intentions,” created by @lisastaprans of Staprans Design for the San Francisco Decorator Showcase.

And this room was so much more than beautiful.

Lisa designed the space with intention woven throughout. From the nature inspired Fromental wallcovering and bamboo blessed by Thai monks, to Tibetan singing bowls and music created through living plants, every detail was considered as part of how someone would experience the space.

Her vision centered on well being, creating a place for sound baths, meditation, tea ceremony, and moments of restoration.

I think this room has stayed with me because Lisa’s philosophy around design resonates so deeply with my own work.

Beauty matters. Intention matters. How a space makes you feel matters.

Years later, I still look at this room and feel inspired by what she created. It was an honor to bring my sound healing into a space where every detail already held so much meaning.

There is something about natural materials that the body seems to understand before the mind does.

I have always been drawn to materials that retain a connection to where they came from. The softness of wool, the grain of wood, the variation within stone. These natural qualities can make a room feel quieter, warmer, and more at ease.

This is one of the reasons I love working with @sandrajordanprimaalpaca. Her textiles begin with an extraordinary natural fiber from the Peruvian Andes, with a softness, depth, and luminosity you can feel immediately.

Our brains are constantly responding to texture, light, color, and temperature. When those sensory cues feel gentle and familiar, they can help create environments that feel more restorative.

Beauty is not simply something we look at. It is something we experience through the body.

Please join us on Saturday, October 3rd from 1pm - 3pm in Healdsburg for a special panel conversation on Cross Pollination: The Worlds of Neurobeauty & Natural Fabrics with Sandra Jordan and Lisa Staprans for @design.bayarea.

Join #DesignHealdsburg Saturday, October 3rd from 1-3pm for Cross Pollination.

Who hasn’t experienced the feeling of walking into a room and just feeling good, of having some inner voice whisper, “I never want to leave.” Sandra Jordan and Lisa Staprans explore “the why” behind the feeling by looking through the intimately connected lenses of Neurobeauty and Natural fibers.

Both elicit instantaneous “conversations” between our bodies and brains without our awareness, but we’re always aware of what they’re evoking within us: transformative feelings of well-being.

As the founders of Sandra Jordan Prima Alpaca, and Staprans Design, their businesses are quite different, yet they share a deeply held belief-that beauty has healing and transformative powers that can be easily accessed through our environments, and the natural products we put in them. When beautiful natural materials and beautiful design are woven together, our spaces open a channel for us to explore and discover with all of our senses.

Don't miss this opportunity to visit Sandra Jordan Prima Alpaca's beautiful studio during #DesignHealdsburg
