Its hard to believe when I worked my first @edc_lasvegas that it was just me, johnny and his BOH team. Fast forward to my 5th EDCLV- my department produced: 5 VIP areas, 3 Sold out SkyDeck Areas, a unique 3 day pop-up party in the middle of the event, an uber special whirlwind EDC adventure created for one of our favorite clients turned friends, a social media & celebrity influencer program, and finally, the best artist lounge any festival has ever seen. I employed over 15 managers & 200 staff members. I am truly amazed & in awe at how fast the department has grown.
Needless to say, this year kicked my butt. It was, by far, the hardest show I have ever done. So many obstacles, so many challenges, never mind the 118 degree weather knocking out staff left & right. Our team battled food poisoning, stomach flu, strep throat, appendicitis, almost cutting a finger off (almost!), and yours truly getting a tetanus shot for messing up my leg on a rusty piece of dirty metal.
There wasn’t a day that went by in the week leading up to the show where I wasn’t getting 300 plus texts & 300 emails a day. I would wake up in a panic, trying to figure out how I could possibly get back to everyone. But somehow, we got through it, and our team blew every sales record out of the water 🙌🏻🤑🏅💵 As hard as this show was, it was also one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had. Working the hours we did, in the conditions we did- the level of dedication, and passion from the entire team was astonishing. There are too many of you to name, but please know that I am truly honored to work along side each one of you.
And most importantly, I wanted to thank my partner in crime- @johnnyjos - thank you for never giving up on me, for teaching me everything I know, and for always reminding me why we do this job in the first place. And now that I am able to look back, one week later, I can say with absolute certainty that this year was a once in a lifetime experience.
