The last year has been full of changes, of ups & downs. • One undeniable *up* has been completing the first year of my film production MFA program at UCLA – returning to California, working with the fantastic classmates and faculty there, and writing and directing three short films. It hasn’t been without its random, awful challenges (incl the fact that my apartment roof caved in at one point??), but this last year, I finally found myself back at a mixing board and on set with my mixer after a pandemic-long hiatus, and I was able to push myself further – working with actors, working with cameras, with writing (and writing and writing and writing), collaborating with so many great people, and learning more and more about directing and filmmaking. All things which just a few years ago, I wouldn’t have dreamt I’d be doing. It’s wild to be here now. And I’m excited to take on what’s to come. 💫

/ Short clip of our new MFA film production cohort on orientation day 2023
/ The praying mantis which Bora Rex (@boraoraora) and I attracted with the green screen treadmill we painted, and who got paint on his wings. Bora said he probably wouldn’t survive. It was a terrible omen for the year to come but we decided to not tell any of our classmates.
/ The crew and director on Xiran Tong’s (@txrwendy) short scene shoot
/ An orange and lavendar sunset over west LA.
/ Sound mixing for Nyelah Sawyer’s (@interviewnag) film RAT BOX with DP Paloma Ronquillo (@dove_is_my_name) and actor Talea Jackson
/ Audio post session for my doc short about a weekly open mic night (@openmic_revival) same name by Omar Mosin and Mary Beth Abella at Culver City’s @thecinemabar_
/ Directing actors Emilia Viall and Anais Barradas in a scene exercise
/ My apartment ceiling collapse 🥲
/ Playing opposite Hahyun Choi (@ch_eeri0) on the green screen for my experimental short SEMBLANCES
/ Clapboard for the filming of my narrative short TRASH (DP, Jessy Sherif @jessy_sherif)
/ Scene rehearsal exercises for my short TRASH with actors Seline Genc and Charnie Dondrea
/ Animations of a turkey in Blender
