I have ALWAYS been a student. 🤓
Remember the girl in the front row, one arm outstretched eagerly towards the ceiling, the other hand quickly scribbling notes? That was me. I love to learn, and an awesome thing about what I do is that I'm CONSTANTLY getting to learn/experience new things. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In an Indian Wedding, after the ceremony, is the Vidai. The bride is accompanied by her parents and family outside. Before crossing the doorway, she hugs her family goodbye and throws back three handfuls of rice and coins over her head. This symbolizes repaying her parents for all that they have given her so far. It's EMOTIONAL. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This photo was taken after Ashanka and James' wedding ceremony. She hugged her family members, one by one, until her mother pulled her close for just ONE MORE moment with her daughter. 💓

#cwcon day 2 (my last day this year) featured presenting twice on two successful roundtables with INCREDIBLE friends-colleagues (I am truly lucky) and bowling with the C&W crowd with lots of Kairos love. Had a great time at the conference and hope to be back again in the future! :)

Had fun running the St. Patrick's day 5k this morning with some friends in Louisville. Despite hardly training for this, Joey and I got some of our best 5k times ever today -- I think we were both trying to outrun the cold weather around us.

Continuing the tradition of our cheesy cohort picture on visit day. We all met two years ago on our visit day and here we are in our second year in our program. Missing Jessie in this picture. Glad to be working with all these great folks!

My sister @candacewhiting tagged me to share 20 things about me. 1. I cannot read is there is music playing in the background but have no issues when I'm surrounded by people. 2. I hate cleaning but love being in clean rooms. So I compromise by tidying. 3. I refuse to sort laundry. I figure the best clothes will survive. 4. I haven't worn makeup in almost 2 decades and my skin thanks me for it. 5. After moving away from Nebraska 20 years ago I find myself more at home in it now than I was then. 6. I love to read but sometimes get overwhelmed by what I want to read so I end up binging on Netflix instead. 7. The longest relationship I've been in lasted six months - unless you count my relationship with my piano. 8. I don't have a favorite book, stop asking. 9. I used to game online and would spend 40+hrs a week doing it. 10. I once played on Rubensteins piano. 10. As a kid I would bring home biographies of composers from the library. 11. I don't have a high school diploma. 12. My first school was a one-room schoolhouse. 13. In 3rd grade I once chased a boy around outside trying to rub lip socks on him. 14. My best friend as a pre-teen/early teen and I would send letters to each other via USPS. I still have them and we are still in contact (digitally) today. 15. I used to hate my nose. Since my piercing, it's my favorite feature. 16. I love learning. I picked a good profession to pursue. 17. I love studying the natural world but am so scared of bugs. 18. I can't drink hot liquids or eat sour candies without getting a weird taste in my mouth. 19. I just got my first cavity at 38 years old. sad. 20. I've recently learned that, at some point, you gotta take care of yourself and stop giving everything you have away.
