As the debate continues over what exactly Filipino culture is and should look like, #Proudrace (@proudrace) turned to nostalgia and the Filipino experience to be their guiding light. All this to say, creative director Rik Rasos (@rikrasos) proudly let individuality and identity, firmly rooted in the streets and everyday living, take center stage at closing of #MNLFashionWeek2026 (@mnlfashion.week). ​ Through the brand’s signature deconstruction and reworking of fabrics, materials, and garments, each look featured both movement and unconventional silhouettes through draping techniques that told a story. At times, it felt more like a street party than a runway, which worked to the show’s benefit. When some choose to gatekeep what should be considered “in”, the show swings that door wide open for the different, something Rasos is particularly drawn to. ​ The final and biggest show of MNL Fashion Week 2026 made its statement: Filipino roots, and not just the parts that are refined and polished, deserve the spotlight. ​ Swipe through to see more of the collection. ​ Photographed by @kimmontesphoto Editor @seancastelo
