This is a national award given to one applicant that submits a 250 word or less essay telling how they feel this grant would benefit them professionally. The grant provides $1,000 to offset the costs and expenses to attend this year's Annual Conference in Philadelphia, PA.

It was so wonderful getting to speak with author Sarah Loudin Thomas during her book launch visit to ARGO BOOKS in Buckhannon on April 6th.

Sarah is an Upshur County native and has written several successful novels, all of which can be found at Gibson Library for your reading pleasure.

#2022BookTag | UPDATE

I have been MIA last week for a quick social media break after the holidays. I really needed a vacation after a vacation. My reading month have been a bit slow because of that but I have been doing buddy reads which is good cause it's helping me get back on track.

My book bestie @iwantmorebeef tagged me in this fun challenge. It's like a year wrap-up from the books I've read last for 2022. Most books were winners or nominees from Goodreads Best Books of 2022.

🌷The most heart-warming book:
Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shely van Pelt. I fell in love with Marcellus the Octopus from the get go.

🌷The most mind-blowing book:
Wrong Place, Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister. This one felt like I was watching a movie and it kept me guessing until the end.

🌷The most bizarre book:
Didn't read a lot of Thrillers/Mystery last year. Let's see this year!

🌷The most heart-breaking book:
Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens - Kya's life growing up just breaks my heart. The film adaptation was a good one too.

🌷The most disturbing book:
Verity by Coleen Hoover - Crazy dark ending. Still Team Letter all the way!

🌷 The most annoying book:
Lease on Love by Fallon Ballard - I just can't help but eyeroll at the many times Sadie annoyed me. She did grow up in the end which was good!

🌷The spiciest book:
War of Two Queens by Jennifer Armentrout - I wasn't ready for THAT chapter #iykyk

🌷Favorite dark romance book:
Haven't read a lot of dark romances yet. Any recos?

🌷The book that gave you the longest book hangover:
The Cruel Prince by Holly Black and King of Wrath by Ana Huang - My gosh. Give me Cardan Briar and Dante Russo.

🌷Book you didn't expect you'd love:
The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston - Didn't read this at first because I thought I knew the story. When I did, I was so wrong and I fell in love with the book.
