POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Feeling inspired and energized after a fantastic Alliance for Jewish Theater Conference, held in Atlanta and hosted by @thebremanmuseum @alliancetheatre and @thetemple_atl

It was wonderful to be face-to-face and in conversation with fellow storytellers from all over the country and as far away as Hungary.

Thank you to AJT’s @alljewishthtr Executive Director Lynde Rosario and her fantastic team for organizing two days of information-filled programming (and delicious meals from @alonsbakery and @dailychewatl ). And thank you to all the presenters, especially the panel of fierce artistic directors from leading arts organizations in Atlanta, who continue to be our advocates and allies and collaborate with each other to amplify Jewish stories.

We were also treated to a special performance of The Birthday of the World at The Alliance, a magical, interactive play about the creation story using music, lights, puppets and other clever props to elicit wonder from theatergoers young and old. The play required us to be fully present, fostered connection between actors and audience members, and spoke to our hearts and minds, reminding us that first and foremost we are all humans, each carrying within us a divine spark to share with the world through acts of love and kindness. This is why I love theater!

A session on “Crisis Theater” even inspired me to begin writing a story of my own that’s been marinating for a while.
Thank you to my fellow attendees for inspiring, supporting and encouraging me as I take my first steps on this creative path!

This was AJT’s first in-person gathering since 2019, and my first one with them ever. But it won’t be my last.

See ya next year, friends.
