The best time to support your child’s development is now, not later. 💙

Every day, your child’s brain is building new connections.

When developmental delays are identified early, therapy can help strengthen those connections while the brain is most adaptable.

The biggest mistake we often hear is, “Let’s wait and see.” But when it comes to development, early action can make a lifelong difference.
If you have concerns about your child’s milestones, trust your instincts. You don’t have to wait.

Not all walkers are created equal. 💛

Choosing the right walker for your child is about much more than getting from one place to another. In

Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT), we look at how your child moves, not just whether they can take steps.
The right walker should:

✨ Promote upright alignment
✨ Encourage active weight shifting
✨ Support balance without doing all the work
✨ Facilitate a more efficient, functional walking pattern
✨ Grow with your child’s skills instead of reinforcing compensations

A walker isn’t just a mobility device, it’s a therapeutic tool. When matched appropriately to your child’s needs, it can build strength, confidence, and independence with every step.

Every child is unique, and the “best” walker is the one that supports their movement goals.

Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) is a hands-on, evidence-based approach used in neuro pediatric therapy to improve movement quality, posture, and functional skills by facilitating better brain–body connection.

🧠Instead of focusing only on repetition, NDT helps children build efficient, purposeful movement patterns in meaningful activities like rolling, sitting, crawling, and walking, supporting greater independence, confidence, and real-life participation.

Teaching sitting transitions starts with building strong trunk control, side weight shifting, and core activation.

At 5 months old, we work on guided transitions from tummy time into side sitting and supported sitting to help babies learn how to move in and out of positions safely and independently.

These early movement patterns help develop balance, coordination, and functional mobility for future milestones like crawling and sitting independently. 🤍

Here are 3 essential NDT-based exercises for a 3-month-old to start engaging sitting prep and core activity (while keeping developmentally appropriate):

✅1. Supported Sitting with Trunk Facilitation
🔴Sit your baby on your lap or a firm surface.
🔴Give support at the ribcage or upper trunk, not the armpits, so they can begin to activate their own postural muscles.
🔴Gently shift them side-to-side and forward/back to promote trunk righting and core engagement.

✅Modified Tummy-to-Supported Sit Transitions
🔴From tummy time, gently guide your baby onto their side, then assist into a supported sitting position.
🔴Use key points of control at the pelvis and shoulder to help them sequence the transition.
🔴This builds oblique activation, trunk rotation, and head control.

✅3. Supported Propped Sitting with Forward Reach
🔴Place your baby in a supported sitting position (on your lap or boppy pillow).
🔴Let them prop forward on their arms while you stabilize their pelvis.
🔴Offer a toy in midline to encourage head lift, trunk extension, and core stability.
