The Young Patrons Circle’s annual Balanchine Ball returns on Friday, October 16, for an unforgettable evening celebrating the artistry, spirit, and legacy of George Balanchine at New York City Ballet.

The evening begins with the Eclectic NYCB I program, featuring works by Christopher Wheeldon, Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky, and Founding Choreographer George Balanchine. Following the performance, guests will gather on the theater’s luminous Promenade for cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and dancing.

Inspired by Balanchine’s deep affection for French music and the wit, elegance, and charm of Bourrée Fantasque, which closes the evening’s performance, guests are encouraged to dress in black tie with a touch of Parisian flair. The themed attire draws from the effervescent charm of Emmanuel Chabrier’s music and Balanchine’s sparkling choreography, blending formal elegance with playful French-inspired details.

The Balanchine Ball is generously sponsored by The Travelers Companies, Inc.

A special thank you to the Host Committee: Ana Lorenza Colagrossi, Marina Deletic, Tori Habuda, Kristina Hadjipetkov, Sofia Horyn, Celeste Hudson, Gretchen Kron, Ashley Northcutt, Valerie Owolo, Adam Parchue, Derin Sezercan, Maya Shallcross, Emily Stripling, and Isabella Verga

Horse in the air on the final weekend of a beautiful summer.
Tremendous thank you to @manhattanridingclub for organizing, @gcl_new_york_empire for hosting and to @melitheexplorer for getting us there in her very big truck.

When summer ends, vacations are over, and we return back to our regular, ritual filled lives, I am always incredibly thankful that mine is in the greatest city in the world. People (65m a year!) travel from all over the world to NYC to see the sights, the shows, museums, architecture, restaurants, parks. For some it’s the trip of a lifetime. But, on Labor Day, the city is returned back to us to enjoy quietly, at least until December!
And this is what I was pondering while sitting and admiring New York’s latest treasure - certainly the world’s most beautiful department store.
