On 3/15/24 we played the last show at the venue formally known as “The Grape Room” and next week on 10/8/26 we kick off Tisburys Anniversaries Weekend at @thegrapephl ! First Philly venue I ever played at in college, I used to walk my amp to the venue when I first moved up the street 10 years ago, and now we’re doing a proper residency there. Join The Tisburys & our favorite Philly bands for 3 nights at The Grape next Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. $12 for each individual night or come to all 3 for only $25. Come party with us!!! We’ve proudly called New Jersey home for more than 25 years. In that time a lot has changed about how music gets made, promoted, and discovered. But bands will always need places to play. For the scenes to grow. Big rooms, tiny basements, neighborhood dive bars, skate parks, coffee shops, rehearsal spaces that occasionally become venues, all of it.

So this is just a salute to some of the places keeping Jersey’s music scene alive and well. Big ups.

We definitely left some spots out.

Jersey born, asphalt bred - it’s a sentiment that Avery Mandeville (the brain behind Little Hag) and I share and it is far from the only thing. Whether it be Espresso Joe’s, The Inkwell or the Asbury Park Music Awards, it was clear from our discussion that we had experienced a very similar world (albeit moments apart from ever shaking hands in those days). The reminiscing we found ourselves engulfed by when we met back in mid-July was therapeutic for two shore characters who have come to witness many of the rickety dive bars that stamped their adolescence collapse under the weight of a new time. Now in Philly, Avery is as driven as ever. Unapologetically creative and fiercely herself. In tribute to our east coast upbringing, she speaks honestly about how she feels. She strays from the stereotype by carrying respect with her as well as a passionate nature that is dedicated to finding the differences between fighting for others and pretending to. So righteous too, thats the kind of triple threat that is hardly advertised…
