SOBRIETY WEEK 20

It’s been three weeks since I’ve made a sobriety post, and a lot has happened in three weeks.

I’ve played more golf than I know what to do with. On courses I probably have no business being on, at clubs I never imagined I’d walk into, and somehow, they keep welcoming me with open arms.

Every time I step onto one of those properties, it feels like I’m breaking another barrier between my old self and this new one. And maybe the biggest difference is that I don’t feel like I’m sneaking in anymore.

I’m becoming so confident in the life I’m building that I genuinely believe I deserve to be here.

I left home at 18 with $200 in my pocket, a hope and a prayer. Had a kid three years later. And I’ve spent pretty much my entire adult life stacking grains of sand. Trying shit, failing at it, starting over, rebuilding, figuring shit out, and apparently becoming someone who simply refuses to give in or give up.

Somewhere along the way, this stopped being just about sobriety. It became about proving to myself that I deserve this beautiful fucking life.

That you can come from nothing and still arrive with everything you need.

That maybe the things you thought disqualified you were actually qualifying you.

And that maybe you don’t have to spend your whole life wondering when the other shoe is going to drop. Sometimes you can just stand there (preferably barefoot)…

Look around,

And realize that you’ve made it into a life you once couldn’t even picture.

Gratitude is the attitude.

Can you see all this beauty?

Lenny’s been locked in lately, and nothing’s slowing him down (besides snacks). Big thanks to @youngbirdiegolf for getting him dialed with the new sticks, and @cypresspointcc for giving us a beautiful spot to put the work in. The grind is real, and the game’s only getting cuter.
