Another stellar evening celebrating gospel music, community, and choosing joy in defiance of everything in the world that tries to strip it away from us. Music is not optional. It is essential.

It was also such a gift to gather and celebrate Cory Henry’s birthday surrounded by so much love. I loved seeing so many of his friends show up for him, including @bsladenow, @taneka__samone, @kevonstage @aaronwlindsey @iamlillianlloyd @joistarr and many more. Nights like this remind me why we keep showing up. So glad I got to do this with my friends @misterjoey & Micah, @shawnshalim @littlestace714 and others.

TENEMOS ESPERANZA
Words & Music by Federico Pagura and Homero Perera (Recorded Dec. 2018 for #Urbana18)

This song was written to encourage and strengthen believers in Argentina and Chile. During a period of intense religious, political persecution, it reminded them that the birth, life, death, resurrection, and ultimate victory of Jesus sustain our hope and confidence, no matter the trials we face.

VERSE 1:
Because he came into the world and into history
Because he broke the silence and agony
Because he filled the earth with his glory
Because he was light in our cold night.
Because he was born in a dark manger
Because he lived sowing love and life
Because he broke hard hearts and he lifted up the downcast souls

CHORUS:
That is why today we have hope
That is why today we fight with tenacity
That is why today we look with confidence to the future (in this land of mine).
That is why today we have hope that is why today we fight with tenacity
That is why today we look with confidence to the future

VERSE 2:
Because he attacked ambitious merchants and he denounced evil and hypocrisy
Because he exalted children, and women and he resisted those who burned up in pride.
Because he carried over him the cross of our sorrows and he tasted the bitterness of our ills
Because he accepted suffer our condemnation and in this way to die for all mortals

VERSE 3:
Because a dawn saw his great victory over death, fear and lies nothing now can stop history nor stop the coming of his eternal kingdom.
Because he illuminates each path with his glory and the darkness he defeated with fire Because his light is always our history And he will bring everyone to the summit.

Iceland: my first Scandinavian country to add to my country collection and @shawnshalim’s first-ever trip to Europe! 2025/2026 is supposed to be the highest auroral activity in a while, so my mission of course was to see the Northern Lights! So we did, and almost every night! But we also saw way more - what a fun and unique combination of Viking history, geographic wonders (I mean, where else can you find glaciers on an island that is literally a volcano), excellent food, intriguing culture and kind people, using scooters as our cheap mode of transport 😂 and more! I’m not posting all my pictures here because then what’s the point of memories? But hopefully you saw my story for some other awesome moments. And I’m happy to share our itinerary if you’re interested ☺️ Prepare your budget, because it is pricey there (mainly food-wise), but it’s all definitely worth it. 11/10 would recommend 👌🏼
