I wish the camera was better. Upper left post to back right iron.

Fresh 5030 with that old time pop.

@sherwoodhockey 5030 is good enough for me.

Remember to have fun out there!

Fresh @sherwoodhockey 5030. I shave the handle just a bit to give myself more wrist mobility. I also feel like it fits my hand shape better.

I started doing this when I was a kid moving from jr sticks to senior sticks. There didn't used to be intermediate sticks. Now it is just part of my new stick prep. I love the way it feels.

It has occurred to me that there are some people who have never witnessed a wood twig.

This was the last minute of Stick n Puck. Had to reach for the sky at least once. You want to keep the back swing lower in a game.

Have fun out there! 🏒

🐾🎉 BREAKING NEWS: PSD Kal has reluctantly accepted retirement... sort of. 🎉🐾
Please join us in giving a huge Ned's Wish welcome to RCMP Police Service Dog Kal! 💙
Kal spent 7 years proving two things:
🐕 Bad guys can't outrun a police dog.
👮 Sometimes handlers should just listen to the dog.

With 100+ successful captures, six years with the Emergency Response Team, and countless tracks across the Lower Mainland and Squamish, Kal built an incredible career. One of our favourite stories? Kal confidently tracked a suspect straight to a river and repeatedly insisted, "He went that way." His handler, using his advanced human reasoning, decided the suspect couldn't possibly have crossed the water.

Narrator: The suspect had crossed the water. 🤦‍♂️😂

After eventually trusting his four-legged partner, Kal picked the track back up and located the suspect hiding inside a boat. Moral of the story: The nose knows.

Kal also knows how to leave on a high note. His final ERT deployment ended exactly how you'd expect—one suspect made the bold decision to run... and Kal made the even bolder decision to catch him. Career complete. 🎤⬇️

Retirement, however, has been a little confusing.
Every time the work truck leaves the driveway, Kal throws his own version of a union grievance by howling dramatically, convinced everyone has gone to work without him. We're not saying he's struggling to switch off... but HR would probably like a word. 😂

When he's not filing vocal complaints, Kal enjoys swimming, playing fetch, chewing every bone within reach, and hanging out with his best friend—a tiny 14-year-old Toy Australian Shepherd. Because apparently the toughest dog in the room also has the cutest entourage.

Thank you for your incredible service, Kal. Your community is safer because of you, your partner has plenty of great stories because of you, and we're honoured to help make sure your retirement is every bit as legendary as your career.

Now go enjoy your pension, big guy... and maybe let the work truck leave in peace. ❤️🐾
