August 15 🦁Happy Birthday to my soul sister. We've seen each other through many seasons - here's to many more! High school fashion note: Yes, our clothes were thrifted and/or bought on Melrose when we ditched school to go shopping. Sorry, Mr. Caldwell #APHistory

A WeHo staple for a reason! 🍕 Dropped by Z Pizza in the Rainbow District, David & team make a mean pie. ✨ Coming Soon: Pizza Sandwiches on crispy pinsa crust (the fried chicken with arugula & tomatoes is a MUST) + an unreleased Fennel Pizza with sausage or pepperoni that's giving Mediterranean flavors. Fan faves include 5 cheese Margherita pizza with stracciatella (for extra pull) and the Hot Honey Pizza. 🔥 The Secret: Their specialty stone conveyor oven guarantees your pizza arrives piping hot and extra crispy every single time—even for takeout. 🍷 Sip & Spot: Grab a glass of organic, sugar-free wine and hang on their intimate patio on Santa Monica Blvd. From quick slices to full-service catering, wings, and unique pies like their top-selling Hot Honey Pepperoni, Z Pizza has something for everyone. Grab a slice or order in. #pizza #wehoeats #zpizza #rainbowdistrict

Some of the best food can be found in a strip mall. @ristorante.vivi in Valley Village is one of those. Two years in, quietly doing its thing — Eater LA reviewed them early so we knew it had to be good. Traditional Italian. Pizza, pasta, all of it made in-house, all of it available all day. Chef Angel is not playing around and with an addiction to cooking shows, you know I asked to step into the kitchen and watch him cook. This is the spot you bring your bestie on a Sunday night when you have to carb load for a crazy week ahead. Cozy. Unpretentious. Warm and Sunday Supper vibes. No wait list, although Chef told me that Saturday nights can get really busy. And when I found out that some of the folks from WeHo fave @dialogcafe like to pop in there for a bite - well that sealed the deal for me. Our waiter Justin was the kind of server who makes you forget you’re at a restaurant. He made us feel so welcome and had great recs for us 👇 🥗 Caesar & Artichoke Hearts — bright, crisp, perfect start. Homemade croutons crumbled into every savory bite. 🍝 Pappardelle Bolognese — deeply umami, those wide ribbons holding on for dear life. Yes. 🫕 Oxtail Cavatelli — the one. Tender in a way that takes time and intention. You’ll think about it later. 🍗 Chicken Marsala — classic done right, which is harder than it sounds. And fire. So much fire. 🍋 Lemon Mascarpone Cheesecake — velvety, bright, exactly the ending the meal deserved - it was served alongside Justin's coffee. Wine. Good food and a warm welcome. That particular kind of full where you pack some of the food to go, knowing it will be a hug when you unpack it for lunch during your busy week ahead. 📍 5424 Laurel Canyon Blvd, Valley Village. Go. 🇮🇹 #ValleyVillage #EaterLA #LAEats #ItalianFood

Today's matcha moment brought to you by @cafe_matcha by @alfred Fun fact: I moved to Tokyo right after college - that's where I fell in love with matcha. The verdant powder, the ritual of the whisk… bye bye teabags. Sunday’s mission was to try the limited-run Dark batch at Cafe Matcha. 🍵 Verdict: Saikō ni oishī. So so good. Tip — like a lot of coffee and matcha spots, it closes early. We were absolutely the people grabbing our cups to go at 4:58pm. #matcha #studiocity #venturablvd

I honestly don't even know how to start this post. Where have I been? On July 14th, I went to @cedarssinai ER with what turned out to be a ruptured appendix and subsequent sepsis. For those that don't know (I didn't really), it's a potentially life-threatening response to infection. I ended up on life support with 9+ machines, induced semi-coma, intubated, and so much more. A close group of friends and family watched me around the clock, advocated for me, fought for me, watched over and spoke for me when I literally couldn't speak for myself. Some of you were part of the What's App group that received the updates. Many others of you donated to take care of the people taking care of me, sent me cards and presents and text messages and flowers, THANK YOU. To be honest, I don't even know all of it because I was unconscious for the worst parts of it. It's been a slow road to recovery, but I'm on it. I went to California Rehab Institute for 20 days after spending 2 months at Cedars, and that was a critical part of my recovery as I relearned things that I took for granted. I entered this @newbeauty contest on a whim as Max, my gubby @twistedname drove me home to take care of me and help me recover even more. I'm now back in WeHo, closer to my numerous doctor appointments and with my sister from another mister @mylenamyrealtor. My bestie @livelovetarot continues to be the rock taking me to my appointments. Thanks to my friends, especially @keithkaplanproperties this little whim of entering this contest has a chance. It's important to me, because as some of you may know I once owned a beauty brand and it's been a big part of what I believe - beauty for all, all ages and sizes, and ..... abilities. If you feel moved by any of this, please vote - the link is in my bio. If you have questions, feel free to DM them. If you got this far, thanks for reading. If you held me in your thoughts or prayers - THANK YOU. Xx Maxine

I also offer energetic clearing in my healing packages. We often hold on to “stuff”, leaving us stuck or attached to things that no longer serve us. With a loving, non-judgemental approach and an ability to move quickly - I help clients clear a space with intention. This is perfect for hoarders, messy’s, or just people who need a little help letting go of the past. DM me for more info or to book a clearing session. (I request a three hour minimum 🧹)

Happy Birthday to my mama, Virginia Jane Tatlonghari 💕 She lost her fight to lung cancer much too young. She was only 65. For those of you who know my story, I raise money and awareness for @californialung @lungassociation work in her honor. She was grace and strength personified. She was quick to laughter. Even when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer (she was asthmatic all her life, and she was a non-smoker) we found the moments to giggle. I’m so grateful that I was able to call her Mom. So, on her birthday - and 5 days before mine, I invite you to climb with me, volunteer or donate. Whatever you can do. Or just post here with a story of your Mom - post her name or tag her if you are still able to love on your Mom in this world. :) Virtual hugs xx 😘 #linkinbio

My heart is broken and I am angry. I need to do something but I’m not sure yet where to channel my efforts, activism and energy. DM, text or comment below on what you are doing or if you have ideas on what will make the biggest impact to stop this disease which is now quite frankly, scaring the shit out of me. Our elderly, women - WTF. All hate crimes are beyond unacceptable but to viciously target the most vulnerable ... I can’t even comprehend.
