An absolutely magical morning at @silkmillinfrome where I was introduced by the great fibre artist @alicekettle and hosted by a crit group led by @camillaemson
.
The gallery at Silk Mill Studios is absolutely gorgeous with lovely natural light (I’m jealous - honestly). For this morning’s event the seven artists presenting their work installed a VERY temporary exhibition in the space and walked us all around it, giving five minute presentations on their work before we all gathered around for an hour-long Q&A in which I fielded questions of all kinds.

@alicekettle
Alice Kettle, artist, mother, grandmother. Likes stitching, swimming but hasn’t managed to do both at the same time. Still working on it.

@sophiemasonart
Sophie Mason b. 1985 makes paintings, drawings, textile works shaped by and from her local landscape. She has a particular interest in the ethics of materiality and the stories it tells.

@livesofthings
Rachel Marshall b 1984. An artist and writer working across multiple disciplines. Her work explores unseen forces that mingle amongst us.

@cherrytruluck
Cherry Truluck’s practice spans community building, botany, cooking and farming, fusing together in a transdisciplinary act of research creation. Currently developing ‘A Year Long Feast’ with Cement Fields and ‘Rural Futures’ with Common Treasures and Messums ORG.

Temujen Gunawardena b. 1988. Artist and film maker working locally and internationally across participatory and social engaged projects

@camillaemson
Camilla Emson b 1985. Multi disciplinary artist and researcher working in both textile, drawing, glass and based in somatic movement practices. Upcoming show in June in Berlin with League of Stars June 2026.

@selinaogilvy
Selina Ogilvy, mother, artist. Obsessive researcher.

@alyssanorton
Alyssa Norton is an artist and designer whose practice spans fine art and jewellery. Rooted in intuitive material experimentation and moving fluidly between the organic and the synthetic, her work investigates the space where painting becomes sculpture. The moment the implicit gives way to the explicit.

Our silent auction of postcard-sized artworks is live until 8pm on Friday 21st November, and it is nothing short of a treasure trove. Check out our stories for links to the individual works or follow the link in our bio.

‘They stayed awake all night. Melted into each other’, 2024. Rachel Marshall has kindly made an edition of 10 works for Path Projects. All proceeds go towards our 2025 exhibition programme. Each edition is £50.

Join us this Thursday from 7pm for a talk from Rachel on her exhibition ‘Twin-bore tunnel on the A303’ currently on show at the gallery. Thursday 10 October from 7pm - please bring headphones which are compatible with your phone to listen to the audio component of the work.
