Some weddings stick with you for reasons that go far beyond the photographs. Montana has always held a little bit of my heart. I spent time there as a kid, and returning as an adult brought back this unexpected sense of familiarity and comfort. It’s a place that reminds me of my dad and how much he loved it there. I started every morning of the wedding weekend in a wooden Adirondack chair, overlooking Flathead lake and drinking coffee. It was quiet, grounding, and honestly one of the most refreshing ways I’ve ever started a day during a wedding weekend. Getting to stay at the lodge alongside the couple, family, and friends was also so special. I got to know everyone beyond just what was happening in front of my camera. There’s something about a multi-day wedding that just makes sense. Weddings are beautiful — but they also can be a little performative. You’re “on” for a lot of it. The timeline moves fast. You’re pulled in ten directions. And often, you’ve barely had a chance to really see and connect with all the people you love most. This is what made Brittany + Tom’s weekend wedding in Montana so special. They booked out the entire ranch. Invited their closest people to stay. Built in time to actually be with them — out boating, a sunrise horseback ride, around a bonfire, over breakfast, an intimate steak fry, and endless ranch activities. Let’s normalize slowing down, making time to be present, and enjoying a full weekend with the people you love most. It was a wild western weekend for Brittany + Tom—and honestly? I didn’t want it to end 🤠💥 Their wedding at Flathead Lake Lodge was more than a celebration—it was a full-blown Montana experience. Their closest family and friends came out ready to laugh, eat, drink, and do all the Montana things. And I had way too much fun tagging along. The weekend kicked off with a welcome dinner on the lawn, where guests could sip cocktails, sign up for hiking, biking, archery, trail rides, and even create their own custom brand. The vibes were immaculate and the speeches were just getting started. Friday felt like grown-up summer camp—sunshine, lake time, adventure, laughter echoing through the trees. That night, we all loaded up into vintage fire trucks and rode out to the elk preserve for a steak dinner and a “roast + toast,” which included some of the best speeches I’ve ever heard. Themes were clear: Tom, the fisherman, had landed the greatest catch of his life. Brittany, the planner and adventurer, found her person. They balance each other perfectly. 💛 By Saturday, I felt like part of the inner circle. Everyone was calm but buzzing with excitement. B + T had already spent two full days soaking in love and laughter, and now came the moment they’d been waiting 11 years for. The first look held that nervous magic—peaceful but charged with emotion. And from there, the whole day unfolded like something out of a dream. And THEN, as if it couldn’t get better, I got to sneak away to Glacier with these two for a little adventure session that made me feel even luckier to know them. Truly, the kind of couple who make you feel like an old friend right away. It’s all in the film. The love, the energy, the chaos, the peace.
