For my bachelor’s thesis, I had the privilege of following some very talented and different dancers as they pursued their passion.

Witthawat Tonja is 30 years old and began discovering his passion for dance at the age of 13. Unlike many others, he did not start by taking dance classes. He found videos of a hip-hop group on YouTube that inspired him. In his bedroom, he tried to recreate what he saw.

Eventually, he started practicing on his own. At around 15, he began taking dance classes and soon started teaching his own choreographies. At 24, he led his first dance group, which became very successful. He noticed his talent for creating successful shows.

Now he teaches, performs, and also coaches other motivated dancers. For him, it is not only about dancing and physical skills, but above all about having a strong mental foundation. He wants to continue dancing simply as Wittha, teaching and coaching wherever he is needed. He knows that there will always be difficult phases that he has to fight through. But he also knows what he is fighting for and enjoys the moments when he gets to express that.

Among his greatest achievements are the people he has had the opportunity to help develop into strong dancers.

For Wittha, dance is not just a full-time job. He says that dance stands above him; through dance, he has become the person he is today.
