This summer was one I will never forget. Full of sunsets, fishing, gf/df/ef cupcakes, trips to midtown, stargazing, intern times, the living room of 53 being full, wildfire smoke, an evacuation squeezed in there, and the list goes on.

It was a summer that nobody could have expected or planned for. The reality of what summer became vs what we thought it was supposed to be was a hard and heavy weight to carry. But through all of the half-day turnovers, unsetting tables, cleaning garbage cans, and changed plans I leave this summer full of joy and gratitude.

It was more than a summer of fun memories and hardship. It was a summer of getting to know strangers and becoming a family. Learning to find joy and laugh when things felt easier to cry and sulk in the heaviness of it all. Seeing the Lord's goodness and faithfulness throughout the sweet and hard moments.

I started off the summer being in awe of the Lord's intentionality. I saw this most clearly in the way each person was placed in their jobs and the community that was formed because of it. And as much as I'll always want to understand the why of what happened, I hold on to the belief that the Lord was intentional with our community and with how our summer played out.

It wasn't what we expected or planned, but the Lord was present in all of it.

I could talk about this summer forever so I'll be done now. Ask me about it whenever!

I’m am beyond thankful for this community. At first I had no idea as to why I was here and kept asking the Lord why. Although I didn’t get an audible answer, He still answered. He placed me in a community with believers that got to see my best and worst parts. I had the great opportunity to meet amazing people on work crew, summer staff, camp staff and assignment team and each person had a unique part in my experience. Thank you everyone for showing so much love and support, and thank you @wfrhousekeeping for allowing me to be a part of this family!!

For the longest time of my life I’ve been my own worst critic. I would always talk about having grace for others but never really give any to myself. I would never really want to accept or acknowledge my humanness. I felt like I was doing the Lord a favor by not accepting my humanness. In reality I was carrying more weight than I needed too (Mat. 11:28).

But thank God I am chosen!! (Jeremiah 31:36-37)
