The time is coming, the preparation crucial. I will be ready to finish what I started. The message will always be the same: this is not about a medal. This is about HOPE. HOPE for those who provide us peace and for those who love them. 🇺🇸🏁

🎧 New episode is live.

Mark Clayton went from first-round NFL draft pick to building a headphone company from scratch with zero background in either.

Broken headphones. A product recall that almost ended it all.

Thanks to Docket for sponsoring this episode. 🎙️

Mark Clayton had to recall his entire Livv Audio Kickstarter campaign.

Instead of going quiet, he sent a mass email to every backer. Found the defective units. Replaced them all for free, and covered the shipping himself.

The customers who lived through that recall with him still get a permanent loyalty discount today.

Jay Baer says it best in Hug Your Haters. Your best customers are the ones who are frustrated enough to tell you the truth.

Mark Clayton launched his Kickstarter. Orders were flying off the shelf until he got a message no founder wants to see: "I think there's a virus on the MP4 player."

He flew to the 3PL warehouse in Austin and started opening boxes one by one. Every third headphone had it.

A full recall.
A factory that wouldn't take responsibility. And a moment where he almost walked away from the whole thing.

Mark Clayton broke two headphones in the pre-game warmups in the #nfl .

That frustration became the spark for LIVV Audio.

His fix: a headband that sits back on the head instead of on top, with ear cups designed to stay locked in no matter how hard you move.

Sometimes the best product ideas come from being annoyed enough to fix it yourself.

NFL to CEO.

Mark Clayton was a first-round NFL draft pick. Seven seasons with the Ravens and Rams.

Then he retired and says it felt like starting elementary school all over again.

No staff. No one handling the details. Just him, figuring out life from scratch while building a business he knew nothing about.

TRANSFORMATION?

Is it TRANSCENDING plains once thought unachievable?

Or is it a CONSTANT conversation with one's self?

A back and forth game of a MENTAL and PHYSICAL battle? Kind of like the HEART and MIND.

TOGETHER their an unstoppable force. Separate the fall of ROME....

If you LISTEN close enough. Your body will tell exactly what it needs.YET WE ARE HARD OF HEARING.

Just as we are with the GOD
