2016. My first Burning Man. My, how time flies! Today I am reminiscing on the experience that really changed everything for me. I was so excited and grateful to be there with the incredible community that is Camp Charlie (@theunicornsca). These people are the real deal, living by all the principles that @burningman stands for. No sparkle ponies here. 💖 United, we made a camp, an iconic art car, and a family. I’ll never forget the friends I made, the conversations I had, the MUSIC and DANCING, the wonders I saw, the kindness I was shown, and the lessons I learned. Everyone pitched in to plan and execute this mission. I assisted with organizing, painting signs, spraying fire retardant on our fabric parts, helping maintain our communal kitchen, and being on-the-ground safety control.
A week before leaving for the Burn I lost my job, and had my car totaled in a hit-and-run collision. My foundation had been rocked. Burning Man at that point seemed completely frivolous, but I journeyed on. Plus, @lizdevlin had already done my fabulous unicorn mane. 😘
Looking back, I’m so happy I proceeded with my plans.
I was a blank canvas to be filled with inspiration. I saw people working in harmony to build larger-than-life art, showing up with their most authentic and expressive selves, and bringing all the magic with them. 💃🏻✨
I went to epic parties, saw BIG art, dressed up in costumes I’d made, was given all manners of generous gifts (including my ticket and on-Playa gourmet meal delivery from @chefbv 🕊️), attended weddings, fumbled through dust storms, participated in spiritual ceremonies, and witnessed lots and lots of burns. 🔥
I came back from the Playa motivated and determined to return to society and make my lifelong dream happen, to be a working artist. That commitment I made to myself was the catalyst for the creation of @avataradesigns. It feels amazing to look back now at my journey over the past decade, and all the creative things I’ve done. I don’t know if I’ll ever return to Burning Man again, but I’ll forever cherish these memories, and where they led me. We really were #unicorningsohard. 🦄💥
Wishing all my friends a safe and radical Burn. )’(

The Kickstarter is finally live.

I put together some really special rewards if you’d like to become part of the story and help make Keyhole to Other Dimensions even more special. (Photo Book, Letterpress Print, Tee and a patch) Some rewards come with cool dimensional creature stickers ;)

To everyone who’s already supported this project with your time, encouragement, generosity, and hard work… I couldn’t be doing this without you.

Remember… everyone loves dusty keyholes.

The Garden Family really came together these last weeks to pour their hearts into this beautiful gem. Going all in from beginning to end. Accomplishing what we set out to do. Not just build homes or structures but to build dreams and community. It’s never easy but it’s always worth it!! B&W photos by: Frank Niebla

Here’s what the progress at Rio Lindo Village looks like so far. We are please to present our new expansion here at the garden. We have been quietly making steady progress in the development of this beautiful project. As the Garden matures and expands into a fuller vision, so do the Stewards. It’s been almost 10 years since we first set foot on this land. At first, it seamed so far fetched. So many unknowns, so much to learn, so many complex challenges. It’s been a learning process and also a process of surrender, in which we have all been transformed. There have been many sacrifices tho through resilience, vision and stewardship, the garden is flourishing. We are so grateful to the dozens of people who have come here to support this vision, to pour their hearts into what is becoming more than just a diamond in the rough.

Bliss family 🦋 We did it!! Our third annual gathering was a celebration of co-creating Bliss.

We’ve all now taken some time to decompress, integrate, and digest all that was created through Bliss Burn 2026. We’d all like to start out by extending some special thanks to those who helped shape the burn this year.

Five days of what you all experienced didn’t happen overnight. It happened because of the people who showed up before the gates opened and stayed long after they closed.

Who fixed what broke with a smile. Who held space when it got heavy, and poured their whole hearts into making sure others could be free in a space to express their Bliss.

You didn’t just build an event. You built a world. And we are so deeply, profoundly grateful.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. 🙏🔥

Special shout out to the rockstars to whom we couldn’t have done this without ⬇️

Water.
Fire.
Ancestors.

We call.
We remember.
We realize.

Powerful Simplicity.

We are the ones.

The ones breathing life into this moment.
The ones tending the fire.
The ones carrying the hopes, dreamz n desires
for ourselves —
and for those with whom we walk.

Since Blissburn 2025,
the wheel has turned.

Did you feel the shedding?

Is the burning intense yet?!?

As Blissburn 2026 approaches,
it feels beautiful to offer this memory
as both a grounding…
and an opening.

Feel free to call upon this
as a small invocation
moving through the field.

A cleansing.
A remembering.

May the airs clear.
May the waters flow.
May the fires illuminate.
May the ancestors walk with us in wisdom.

✨

At the fork of the Two Rivers,
where the waters converge. 🌬️💧🔥🜃

Agua.
Fuego.
Ancestros.

Llamamos.
Recordamos.
Reconocemos.

Simplicidad poderosa.

Somos nosotros.

✨

En la bifurcación de los Dos Ríos,
donde las aguas se reencuentran.

Yesterday marked 9 years since our dear friend Bryan moved on, and a string of coincidences put me in a place with many of our friends, and receiving some of his belongings.

We hold you in our hearts and ears Bryan. Until next time 🙏❤️

Oh and yes, I drew that pumpkin in his likeness 😆 Bryan!
