✨BOSTON, MA✨

What is real power: the ability to move the world, or the ability to stay unshaken by it?

That was the question Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (@gurudev) brought to a packed ballroom at the @marriottcopley Copley last night, and I’m still sitting with his answer this morning.

His take: real power isn’t what we usually picture. Celebrities and politicians often hold the illusion of power. Real power is self-reliance and independence. It’s comfort plus freedom. And above all, love is power.

A few ideas I wrote down and keep coming back to:

✨ Peace is the natural state of the mind. Overthinking is what pulls us out of it and into anxiety.

✨ Your breath tells you the state of your mind and body. (As someone who works with the nervous system every day, this one landed hard.)

✨ When one person in a family is dysregulated, the whole family loses its peace. Our inner state is never just ours.

✨ Inside every culprit, there is a victim.

✨ Games are being played like war today, when they should be an expression of life and joy.

He also talked about “wow moments,” the simple awe of nature, like watching the clouds turn pink at sunset. And he joked that our attention spans are down to 30–40 seconds, then checked in on the room: “Are you there?” Here. 🙋‍♀️

I was filming for part of the night, which means I wasn’t fully “here” for all of it. There’s some irony in trying to capture a talk on presence through a phone screen. But the moments I put it down were the ones that stayed with me.

So I’ll ask you: are you here right now? And what does real power mean to you? Tell me below 👇

Thank you @artoflivingboston for having me!🙏🏼

“Love is the real power.”

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar shared that thought with a sold-out ballroom in Boston on Friday evening. I’ve been reflecting on what it asks of us as leaders in health care.

We work in environments that demand expertise, quick decisions, and responsibility for others. It is easy to respond to that pressure by trying to control more. Gurudev spoke about presence and the relationship between breath, awareness, and emotion—ideas he has a gift for making both profound and practical.

The audience’s pre-submitted questions brought real depth to the evening. Gurudev took time with them, and the exchange reminded me how much we learn when we make room to listen. The meditation he guided afterward left me feeling deeply restored.

For me, love as a form of power means bringing care into the decisions we make, the way we listen, and the way we treat people when the work is difficult. That takes steadiness and intention. It matters in every team, institution, and community we help shape.

It was meaningful to share the evening with friends and colleagues from Mass General Brigham, Harvard Medical School, and Harvard Business School. Thank you to Gurudev, @lizbrunner and everyone who made this gathering possible.

One of the best fashion shows of the year has to be the iconic Fenway to the Runway! Build the village you want to live in: One C.o.O. at a time. 🌊 Had a wonderful time at Camp this week in Marblehead. @tarag97 you did SUCH great work and deep processing with me.

10/10 effort.
Exciting, exhausting, but ultimately energizing.

I am so excited for your direction, watching you unfold it online, and in the world. You felt the spark of "Wait?! What?!" at the end of Day 2...... and today felt like a rocketship countdown to take-off.

I'm so happy I started recording the audio at our secret "beverage spot" last night when you began telling me about your epiphany after two days at Camp.

Now we can literally roll back to the exact moment you'd said: "Amy, I have an idea....." and then you proceeded to outline a brilliant, perfectly YOU, incomparable offering, that was custom fit to all you've lived to date, AND feels like a market winner to me!

BA-BAMMMM!

Your combination of 25 years in high stakes Public Relations, Publicity for well-known figures and heavy hitting entities in state government, luxury products, celebrity foundations / celebrity product launches, gourmet foods, medical devices, and more: SIMPLY WOW.

Add your one of a kind back story and what lights you up = You are a Category of One.

The world is gonna LOVE what Tara is up to next......YOU DESERVE IT.

Your investment in Future You is paying off.

So happy we had this time together- and that you were able to connect with the first camper, Stephen Ritz, by phone, ahead of Camp-- and early "Beta" tester of the process, @lizbrunner in conversation over dinner by the sea.

You all are definitely increasing the surface area for luck to land on.

So proud of your investment in Future You-- and to have been part of your thought process. Alf Wilson is, too.

Onward and upward.
🚀🚀🚀🚀

Ever stand in front of a full closet and think, “I have nothing to wear”? It’s rarely about the clothes. It’s about alignment.

We’re taught to believe power comes from reinvention—new looks, new roles, new layers. But real presence doesn’t come from changing who you are every day. It comes from owning who you are—consistently. Confidence isn’t in the outfit. Authority isn’t in the label. Authenticity lives in the way you carry yourself when nothing feels performative.

The most magnetic leaders don’t ask, “Is this enough?” They ask, “Does this reflect me?” Because when your inner clarity meets your outer presence, even the same outfit becomes a statement—and your energy does the talking.

What if the most powerful leadership skill you’ll ever build isn’t confidence, charisma, or credentials—but self-awareness?

Most people spend their lives trying to perform leadership; Polishing the message. Perfecting the delivery. Chasing the title. But the leaders who truly move rooms, shift cultures, and inspire trust? They start somewhere else. They start within.

Real presence isn’t about being flawless. It’s about alignment—when your values, energy, and actions tell the same story. When who you are on the inside matches how you show up on the outside. That’s the IT Factor. And it’s not something you’re born with—it’s something you build.

Here’s the question I’ll leave you with: Where in your life are you performing… instead of leading?
