The decision to try out for cheer in high school was one of best decisions i have ever made. Cheer took me farther than i ever thought it would and has given me my best friends and memories that i’ll always have. I owe a lot of what I am today to @haverfordladyfords. I would never be cheering in college or flying at the level I got to had they not continued to take chances on me and believed that I could do it. I never thought the day would come where I would be writing this and I wish with everything in me I wasn’t. Cheer has become my escape and saying goodbye is incredibly hard.
My cheer career over the last 8 years has not been easy by any means. I often wondered if pushing through everything was even worth it but I can say with full confidence that it was. I would pop out every joint in my body a million times if it meant I could do it all over again. Every single set back and injury has taught me to keep going even when I don’t think I can. The last two years have tested me in so many ways and have made me a stronger person and athlete. To be able to come back this season after thinking I was done meant so much to me. I would not have been able to do any of it if I didn’t have the best teammates and coaches by my side.
Despite swearing I would never come to saint joes and I wasn’t going to cheer in college, this team has become the best parts of my days. I truly would not be me without sju cheer. This team has rebuilt my confidence from ground up and I am forever in debt. I am incredibly grateful to these coaches for allowing me to prove myself and giving me opportunities I never thought I’d have. This was not the outcome I wanted for this team who truly deserved so much but it does not define us. This year will hold such a special place in my heart. I am proud of every single person in this program for continuing to push when nothing was going how we wanted it to. I love you all so much thank you for giving me the best 4 years and the best senior year ever.
