POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Three friends. Three different ways of experiencing the same ride — and a whole lot of stories being captured along the way. 📸

A husband-and-wife photography team came aboard, cameras always close at hand as they explored the landscape, watched for wildlife and worked to capture the images that would tell the story of their day.

Their friend had a different focus: food. He brought his own camera setup to showcase the dining experience on his platform, working his way through the food story — right down to dessert. 🍽️📸

And then there was everything happening outside the train.

They explored the landscape, watched for wildlife and kept their cameras ready. Bald eagles were part of the plan, too. The sightings were a little lighter than they’d hoped, but that’s wildlife. You can’t schedule an eagle.

A behind-the-scenes cab visit brought another surprise: a little horn blowing and a group of wild turkeys right on the tracks in front of No. 722. 🦃🚂

What you’re seeing here are the candid moments behind the finished photographs and food posts — three friends experiencing the same ride through three different lenses.

The photographers captured the landscape and wildlife.
The foodie captured the meal.
And I captured the storytellers themselves.

Three friends. Cameras, food, friendship — and whatever the day happened to put in front of them.

Now that’s an authentic Appalachian story.

The warm colors of autumn are here. Come create your own.

Amazing shot by 📸 @ljlambertphotography
“Just as the scarred earth began to heal, the rhythmic, heavy thud of combat boots shattered the quiet of the young spruce forest. In the 1940s, the mountain’s harsh, freezing climate caught the eye of the U.S. military. They utilized the unforgiving summit for World War Il cold-weather training, transforming the peak into a rugged proving ground for soldiers heading into brutal European winters. Decades of local whispers about secret bunkers and radar bases were born from this secretive era. “

We had another wonderful ArtWalk for the books! We weren’t sure what to expect with it being Black Friday, but it was perfect. We had a Drive-In Movie Themed ArtWalk, and Lisa and Shannon took lots of photos, so stay tuned for those! Thanks to everyone who came out, and to everyone involved! Thanks to John Snyder for painting at our event, J. R. Earls for drawling caricatures, Brandy Jefferys for hanging out with us - she had a booth with her artwork and again to Lisa and Shannon for taking photos of the night. Stay tuned for more photos and videos, be sure to follow us to watch out our insta-stories. ❤️ #ArtWalkCWV #CharlestonWV #CWVlife

More photos from yesterday’s Stranger ArtWalk! We had Aaliyah in charge of the @atlantistees booth and Lisa stopped by to enjoy ArtWalk for a change, she’s always working. ❤️ Yesterday was also “Parking Day” and we had a small art installation on Hale Street next to WTSQ with a floor piano rolled out with the words “Play it again Sam” ❤️ We’d love to be involved in more City activities. What a great day in Charleston! Official photos and photobooth photos coming soon! #artwalkcwv #art #strangerthings #strangerthingsart 📷: @mrjoelbennett
