Program Highlights✨ this coming Friday, October 9th + October 16th @centralamericansoundarchive and @pamuseum_ present Música Rebelde, Central Americas Popular Movement Music 70s-80s Listening Sessions 12-2pm.

This movement amplified the voice of the oppressed, combated historical erasure, and was testimony to the fight against U.s imper*al*sm. The courage of these musicians fortified international solidarity for the cause; delivering powerful messages that still resonate in today’s popular struggle against f@c*sm. Their music offer us examples of art/music confronting reality, practicing discipline and solidarity for the poor and working class.

Join us in the living room of the people’s sounds, a special program with accompanying short films by Jeny Amaya and Kari Ramirez and exciting live performances by Lolo Cutumay of Cutumay Camones, Francesco Cañas and Jacqueline Munguia on El Salvador’s Oct 16 session 🔥🔥 CASA logo stickers available

The event will be free at the @pamuseum_ NO RSVP required. FREE pupusas, provided and made possible by Roxana K. Landaverde. Craft table by Salvies Who Lunch. Flyer by @bientrankis /// Walking distance from Chinatown metro stop Ⓜ️ entrance off of College st.

“Pressure is a privilege” as the @dccheerleaders say!

This has been running through my mind as we sprinted toward the opening of @hauserwirth Palo Alto with a Calder x O’Keeffe show (the first ever), alongside openings for @davidsmithestate @glennligon #jackwhitten.

And now after this incredible momentum and burst of energy I sit here and still feel this:

I love people
I love ideas
I love bringing people together in the context of art
I love creativity
I love artists
I love being on a team and achieving excellence and the next new thing — whatever lies ahead!

I am so thankful to be part of this moment and continue to work to create spaces for us to come together and share our unique gifts as humans and continue into the great unknown ✨ 🪐
