It’s not every day you’re asked to reimagine a 1970s bunker into a vibrant museum. 👷‍♀️ 🚧 But that’s what our Calgary crew has been up to at Glenbow’s revitalized home, the JR Shaw Centre for Arts & Culture. Lots has changed on site at this community-first project. Getting brighter, bigger & better. The scale is Western Canada’s largest art collection. ✨ Housing more than 33K works. It’s not just a demolition & rebuild. It’s rethinking 312K sq. ft. with 44 exhibitions, displays & installations. And it needs to be welcoming. That’s why a revamped space will double gallery height with lots of natural light spanning across all eight floors. Between all the upgrades, our people work hard to stay true to the original structure & charm. 🖼️ 🎨 Carefully removing the concrete exterior, all while preserving a priceless collection inside. 🗓️ On track to reopen in 2027. On second thought…. I keep hearing that ‘what’s working on social is ‘raw and authentic’ - but before you fire your videographer ask yourself about what they mean when they say ‘what’s working’? Do they mean that those posts are getting more likes or engagement? Or do they mean that they’re attracting more listings and business?
