🚀With food prices rocketing, and unpredictable weather and geopolitical instability continuing to disrupt harvests and supply chains, food and farming are starting to matter in British politics. Our Chief Exec @suepr asks in this weekend’s @theobserveruk: will politicians meet this moment, or waste it?

🚜“Farmers facing escalating bills for fuel and fertilisers need help. Yet every pound spent on recovery is a pound not spent preparing for a changing economy and climate; and the real question for ministers is how many more shocks can the country absorb before something breaks?...

💡”What’s missing now is a plan. We know how to build one when we choose to. We did not decarbonise electricity by asking generators to be more efficient with coal. We set a destination and built the architecture to get there. Agriculture is crying out for the same ambitious transition plan.”

✨ Our Chief Exec @suepr is giving the keynote speech for the food systems track at @theconduitlondon’s Climate and the Future of Health 2026 conference.

🌍 Taking place during London Climate Action Week, it brings together leaders from across disciplines to tackle the relationship between health and climate – and discuss some of the most pressing questions, challenges and solutions in this space.

⚖️ Sue will talk about the real (and sometimes opaque) blocks and barriers to food systems transformation, and how to tackle them. Contrasting the current political economy of food systems, and the power and voices of citizens, communities, farmers and growers, Sue will suggest some radical and practical strategies more likely to give people the food systems they really value.

🗓️ Monday 22 June 2026, 11:45-11:55

Caerhys Organic Farm is a WWOOF host in west Wales and home to COCA CSA.

We’d like to help COCA survive by drawing your attention to the fact that they need more members to sign up for their veg boxes.

COCA are also looking for someone to take over the position of treasurer and become a member of the business management core group.

If you can help in any way, know of someone who might fit the bill as treasurer or who can be a local volunteer please contact @coca.growers

This is a fantastic WWOOF host to visit to learn about all aspects of growing food in harmony with nature and the running of a community supported agriculture veg box project. There’s also a an opportunity to immerse yourself in the Welsh culture in a beautiful location near the sea and with St. David’s nearby.
