Friday wins! 😁🙌🏽♻️

Last Friday we went back to the coconut plantations next to the dump with our friends at @coconutgardenresort !

Luckily the area was mostly still clean from the @lma.gt team holding a huge clean up the week before. Still, we managed to collect over 40kg of plastic bags, wrappers and other soft plastics that had blown from the dump.

Hopefully if the seasonal winds have stopped, it can stay like this!

Huge thanks to all the divemasters, guests, and staff that came to get super dusty and dirty with us, the envrionment of Gili Trawangan thanks you!!

Leahin Gubuk Gili Trawangan 🌴🌊

“Leahin Gubuk” is a collective movement and cultural cleanup initiative by the locals, bringing together the entire Gili Trawangan community — from local residents, business owners, and workers, to tourists and visitors.

Together, we come together to keep our island clean, comfortable, and beautiful — not only for those who live here, but for everyone who calls Gili Trawangan home, even if just for a while.

We encourage everyone to join this movement every Sunday and be part of keeping our island the special place that it is. Every helping hand makes a difference. 🤍

Let’s clean, care, and take pride in our island together.

See you next Sunday! 🌴🧹

Its WORLD CLEAN UP DAAAAAY! ♻️🙌🏽

Well, it is on Sunday, so we thought we'd get a head start!

Please come and join us for a big inner-island clean up!

Every year, we spend September near Gili Trawangan's landfill collecting all the debris and soft plastics that blow off the dump with seasonal winds.

This year will be the same! But thanks to @lma.gt cleaning up last week, we hope that we WON'T beat our record of over 10,000 plastic bags in one clean up (record broken in 2022!) But there is still so much to clean!

Come along and meet us at @coconutgardenresort at 5pm this afternoon to grab clean up equipment and do your part for the island!

And if you can't join here, its WORLD Clean up Day! So spending even 5 minutes collecting litter anywhere is making a tremendous difference. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

Bye August, Hello September!

August may not have been our busiest month, but there was still plenty happening around the Gili Islands, from coral restoration and Biorock maintenance to waste management, Eco Tours, and more!

A big thank you to everyone who joined our Eco Tours and activities. Your participation truly matters and helps us continue our conservation work 🪸🐠

And of course, thank you to all our friends, volunteers, and partners for supporting us and making another month of conservation possible!

See you in September!

Wow what a busy August!!

It's not over yet, but still, a HUGE thanks to all the visitors, dive masters, interns and volunteers that have taken the time to give back to Gili.

Thanks for caring! Thanks for seeing the problem and becoming a part of the solution! Thanks for showing people watching that if we all do a small bit that giant problem will become more manageable.

We're gearing up today for the last beach clean in August! Be sure to join us at Hotel Lumi!
