MASK: A Portal Between Identities.

Our augmented reality exhibition opens at the 87th @icannorg meeting in Bali, exploring the mask as a symbol of transformation, identity and connection, in dialogue with Bali’s own traditions of performance, ceremony and ritual.

Five international artists, selected through an open call on @thehugxyz, made five digital masks. Scan a QR code, open your camera, and try each one on in real time:

Flora Face by João Peixinho, Synaptica by @yo_designer3d, Frenatus by @ozlemmehder, Crown Energizing Maskal Mate by @lmdesigns_8, and Computational Theory of Mind by @cxt.art.

Curated by .ART, powered by @illust.space. See it at the Bali International Convention Centre, Nusa Dua, 17 to 22 October.

#DrVivid 🩷✨ For 7 years, I’ve been attending and participating at Speak Your Truth as an artist. I’m so proud of @speakyourtruthcrew for celebrating this major milestone.

A decade of allowing ppl to have a safe space to tell their stories on their own terms. A decade of performances filled with vulnerability and honesty. A decade of bringing people from all walks of life into a space where there is no judgment, just love & understanding.

This year’s format was new and provided a day of MCs, Moshers, vendors, workshops, & performances. I pray that @speakyourtruthcrew and the vision they have continues to expand & is blessed with funding to make it even bigger & better than the crew & community could ever imagine.

Fundraising moments like these provide resources & relief to those who really need it. Thank you for all you do. Here’s to 10 more and beyond 💚

FYI…see yous tomorrow.

SYT Annapolis is back for our 10th year! Clear your calendars for 7/11, cuz $15 gets you a full day of mental health & arts events at @artfarmannapolis & @andcreativegallery (same building). “MCs & Moshers for Mental health” Matinee show (1p-4p), Vendor Fair (4p-7p), & Main Showcase (7p-10p). If you’ve not been part of it, now’s your chance.

Hey folks! Check out these fabulous arts vendors we have lined up for SYT Annapolis (in ABC order)…

@artbyanthillant has been a day one contributor. He’s been on a run lately with shows all over the region, including at #sytskatesession . Glad he’ll be back with some passioned art to show & sell.

@brenda_madeit is a sought out vendor who got picked up by another event last year. I reached out early to secure Brenda & her lux body naturals. Come on out to buy some or mix up your own.

@debsiddon is back for a 3rd year with a some new media in the mix, but with the same spirit of mental wellness. There’s a reason ArtFarm/AND always have her booked at their shows.

@lmdesigns_8 lit up the runway at our fashion show & is flexing her other artistic talents. She’s nationally known for her augmented reality work & bestowing that at SYT for the first time! Get ready to blend art & tech on a whole new level.

@markedcanvas was an early adopter of SYT & was kind enough to hop back in the mix when I pestered him at a local art show. While he’s a talented musician & teacher, he’s gifting us with his visual art this time.

I randomly picked up @mauriciero zine at AND & instantly knew he had to join SYT. His words & images about his life in Cuba were so incredibly moving & creative. When not creating his own, he’s helping others do so at ArtFarm/AND. Check him out.

@theplantedpen (with her nationally recognized gig flyers) is a frequent SYT contributor. Fresh off live painting a grind box at the #sytskatesession , she’s live painting another dope backdrop for us! Don’t leave home without one of her amazing pieces, especially the gig flyers!

@sacred_circle_art_studios - fresh off designing the sick thrasher Freud for #sytskatesession - is back with his tattoo gun. Get on the books with this local master!

And now Rome.
As history collides with the present, augmented reality stories found a place amongst the ruins of the ancient world. The weight of history, empire, and technological advancement had a gravitational pull unlike anything I’ve encountered. If these walls could talk (or rather columns), to unearth those stories, we’d likely be looking into a reflection of ourselves, a people searching for meaning through sport, politic, war, religion, technology, and creativity. As time is the liaison for the eternal, leaving an artistic artifact for the next millennium is a way to share our story and that at one point we mattered.

AR presented art knows no bounds 🌍
Over the last couple of weeks we captured photos and videos of works from an incredible cast of creators. The first stop was the Amalfi Coast. Special thanks to @archanaaneja @signxifxixcanxce @lmdesigns_8 @zenhybrid.ai for these excellent creations anchored across southern Italy. All experiences published via illust AR creator studio. Blockchain proofs of the experience minted through illust’s spatial memories smart contract.

More to share over the next week!
