Swipe for behind-the-scenes

During development this sequence evolved from a simple timelapse idea into a complex dolly move across two tracks. It was shot within a strict 30-minute window; waiting for the sun to drop to avoid direct hit from it, but keeping value in the sky, allowing the HMI to become our moving sun.

Slide 4: Bonus BTS of snorkel lens on Steadicam. Another technical shot that we managed to pull off. Not quite as fast as a robot arm yet, I’m still working on it.

Joining P Digsss on 7 February is our favourite recluse Uncle RayRay! 🙏🏽🙏🏽 We asked Uncle for some deets and he had this to say:

“As Uncle RayRay I’m a sometime DJ, music enthusiast & a dad who still appreciates the sound of a rock being dragged across a plastic disc. Apparently others do to, so I’ve been keeping Kāpiti fresh playing wax at Duncan’s Brewery once a month.

Inspired by Mr Scruff, Public Possession & Hessle Audio, you can expect an honest, goofy & pretty funky time on the dance floor as we delve into my collection of 1’s & zeros. As a lad I enjoyed the Laughing Gnome by David Bowie, a little bit of John Denver’s Rhinestone Cowboy & the War of the Worlds gave me the willies!

Although I’m keen on feed & an early night usually, I’m looking forward to returning to Hawkes Bay and hitting it outta the park with some bass heavy selections at the Common Room”! 🔥🔥🔥

Come get amongst it with Uncle RayRay, P Digsss and a special guest TBA! ❤️💛💚

Shout out to @fat_lighting ! I was gaffing a commercial and at short notice needed 3 extra crew, a genny truck, extra vehicles, an Arrimax 18k, an M90 and a tonne of other stuff.

Tracey, and Reagan didn’t even blink. All sorted and we met the brief. Reagan even jumped on the tools as best boy and really helped me drive it home. Had an absolute power team.

This job is hard enough sometimes, but having people you can wholeheartedly rely on is so essential. We’re only ever as good as the team behind us. So thanks again, FAT Lighting!
